OWNED by the City of Chicago

I knew this was coming when I saw the *flash* as I just missed the yellow...

I know... $90 is crazy! I was clearly guilty, so not really pissed...I get pissed for BS tickets like no front plate, or those crazy meter rules.....

Looks like the guy in the white car on opposing traffic probably got one of these too, he looked like he missed the yellow later than you did.

That's heavy! My friend got caught in NY and it was $75 I think. We too saw the flash and I said "uh oh" but no one believed me that they now have cameras. Needless to say I was vindicated when the ticket came in the mail.

Since I know you (sorta) it sucks you got a ticket...

BUT

I'm really glad they are hammering down on red light runners, they are one of the top causes for accidents and deaths.

People out here run reds all the time, drives me nuts. Especially when I'm on my motorcycle. Shaving a few seconds off isn't worth someones life and or their health if you t-bone someone in their car. Not to mention all of the asshats who drive through the red when there is clearly no way they will make it across and block traffic going the other way

However 95% of people are only thinking of one thing while they are driving (and or anything in life) .. and that's "me me me".

Wow, and that's why I try to avoid driving in Chicago, but it can happen in the burbs too.

Illinois is not a point system. It works on convictions, 3 moving violations in a year and your license gets suspended. It's really up to the judge though...

Here in Kansas you can pay double the fine 2x a year and they drop the ticket down to a parking violation. Worth every $$ if you ask me, because your insurance will go up for 3 years if they find out about your tickets.

How are they still able to ticket the owner of a car and not the person driving. So if I borrow someones car for the day, I could run red lights all day and he gets the tickets? I still don't see how this is enforcible.

They turned the photo-cop off here in Minneapolis after only 8 months!

Judge said it was un-constitutional and they couldn't prove it was actually the owner driving the car...Oh, and because some noticed an INCREASED in traffic accidents since it was installed.

In Sacramento (or CA), the Red Light violation is $350!

I have no idea if it will work at these stoplight cameras. Considering the stoplight cameras are elevated and I was almost level with my license plate taking pictures. All I know is it works fairly well from some angles, and not so well from other camera angles.
