Overfill

On my CR-V not my TL-S, I accidently put about 1/2 quart more engin oil. So the dip stick reads about 1/4~1/2" over the top line. Is this harmful? Should I drain extra oil or just leave it?

I say drain some, , it'll take 5 minutes to do!

Drain it as quickly as possible. You can definitely do some damage to your engine running it with too much oil.
