Acura wanted to imbue the quality on the car. Kind of like impreza for impressive, they didn't want their cars in the 80s to be seen as rusty cars that had occured in the 70s.

Then you had the legend, the vigor and so on. I miss the legend....

I'd totally drive a clean original 91-95 Legend coupe as a daily. The most beautiful body they ever made.

 

A good friend of mine had a Vigor in college. That thing seemed like it was so fast with its inline 5 w/5 valves per cylinder. Only 176 horsepower according to wiki but thing hauled booty.
