Not much activity here recently, so don't blame me for trying.

Criteria is anything you like but roominess.

I thought you hated 2.0T engines because it sounds terrible.

I don't know what "efficient" means in this context, but from what little I know the ONLY thing a V6 Mustang is particularlly "efficient" at is looking good.

Yea, please define efficient in this context.

But, Golf R all the way. Dont care if its less power. The interior is brilliant - and Im not talking about space. Im talking about quality.

The mustang gets 33mpg highway, but why the hell would you get a mustang over a Golf-R?

Personally if your getting a Mustang get it GT, a mustang should not be bought as a V6 unless its a female buyer.

GOLF R all the way. But I couldn't see myself spending over 50k on one (I think that's what they go for up here)

Just to clarify, I asked about being more EFFICIENT, not BETTER.

That's not an argument, you are just making noise. At least, try to be more intelligent.

And if you insist, why not include your MS3 in this discussion?

Oh you are definitely more intelligent than me. You win.

And I say Orange is more efficient. Apple just needs to get boosted.

I have to disagree with this. The current V6 Mustang has arguably evolved into a good performance car. With it's upgraded suspension, refinement, body chassis stiffening in 2007, the current V6 now boasts 305 horsepower and 280 lbs. of torque. More than enough horsepower and suspension capability to embarrass a previous generation GT. And with better fuel mileage. Male or female, the car appeals to both. I do admit I do have a female acquaintance that has one, but she also has a 2011 GT500 and a 1969 Mach 1 sitting alongside it in the garage, so certainly trust her opinion that it's a great car.

Yep. The current gen V6 is not a girly car. Whoever think it is needs to read up on some stuff.

The only thing inefficient in the V6 Mustang is the drive shaft which hampers its top speed to a limited 114 MPH.

I have not yet seen a Golf R. Are they AWD?

Basically an AWD version of GTI with engine tuned to ~260HP/~240TQ.

Mustang V6. More power, more mpg and probably smoother.

Even the 5.0 almost matches the mpg of the Golf R.

So because its better then the previous 4.6L GT its better? There are plenty of other cars that would embarrass fords 4.6L GT's it was Fords worst idea, even some 4cyc would embarrass the damn thing so do that make them a better car? No not necessary.

And this thread was freaking dumb from the beginning. I'm sure nobody on this board has even driven the Golf R yet. How do we know how efficient they are anyway? And what does that exactly mean in this case?

So dumb.

The is only one real answer.

Neither one is a holy bummer so the OP really doesn't give a shit.

/thread...lock it up. Shut up the retarded noobs. Hopefully, the OP crawls back under a rock for another few months before popping up to see if he catches his shadow.

If criteria is HP/MPG/Interior/Price Space the Mustang wins.

The interior of Mustang looks like shit though. On the other hand, Golf R looks inside.

But really, these two cars are completely different. Comparing them head to head is just stupid.

Wow. Great thread , and a great bunch or replies from some noobs (or Car Talk noobs).

I just don't see this ending well. Terry (and a few others) reply with common sense, and the thread still stays derailed. I think that's a sign...
