a one of a kind e24 for sale

One of a kind Well Documented Korman Built BMW 633CSI Turbo E24 Euro Conversion. Wrecked. Rear hit. 45,057 actual miles.

THE ENGINE RUNS GREAT! Cleaned injection system - running on external fuel tank. No Smoke, no strange noises, runs the way it is supposed to. The Schrick 282 cam makes this car sound more suitable for the track than the street! NO LEAKS! Runs at operating temperature and all vital fluids are staying where they belong! Will be glad to start and demonstrate engine! I doubt you have heard another BMW sound the way this one does!

If you're looking for the easiest way to make that slow E24 chassis you have go FAST and have that one of a kind eye-candy interior, I might have your solution. Before you get too excited and think I'm giving away a cheap E24 that has some minor chassis damage, look at the pics. If you're a BMW guy who loves the 6 series E24 and the Korman Performance name, keep reading:

Below is a link to more detailed pics on Photobucket

I will try and describe this as best as I can. This car was 100% built by Korman Autoworks of Greensboro, NC. I have well over $60K in receipts for the build and maintenance. Serial # 5525134. If you don't know about Korman, they are North Americas #1 BMW tuner. This car has a 'blue block' engine in it - those that know, know. Complete internal rebuild, Korman Cartech 567 Series Turbo, Schrick 282 cam, Remote oil filter, Race oil cooler, Cartech water-to-air intercooler, re-cored radiator - lots of good stuff. Pages of receipts. Low mileage example of a Korman built race motor.

In October of 1996, the car was purchased from Texas as a birthday gift for a 16 year old kid (no kidding). Two younger siblings were playing in the car when they knocked the transmission out of gear that the car rolled down a hill and slammed a tree rear-first, destroying the chassis. The engine wasn't even running. Two days prior to its destruction, brand new tires were installed (still have the little tabs on all 4) and the car was taken for a mechanical inspection and compression check to Hafkemeyer Motors in Kansas City and given a clean bill of health. They did replace the MAF sensor but otherwise it was mechanically perfect. Prior the the build, the car was purchased in 1985 with 25K miles, and only 20K miles were driven in the next 11 years after the Korman upgrade. Actual miles on the car are 45,057. I purchased the car from this owner for a future project/chassis swap of my own, but it never happened. I did call and confirm that Korman built the car, they sent me the build sheets back in 96 to confirm. I cleaned up the car, put conditioner on the leather seats and covered and wrapped the car where it has been stored indoors for nearly 14 years. Never exposed to the elements. It actually ran when I bought it, backed it into the garage. Sprayed WD40 down the intake prior to storing it. The internals of the motor are absolutely immaculate, not even a slight discoloration from lack of oil change. Everything is bright silver. Scans of the build sheets and some of the upgrades are posted with the car pics.

(*Note* I believed I had drained all of the gas out of the tank, but prior to attempting to start it, I actually checked by removing the fuel p/u sensor. on top of the tank - Didn't get it all. Tank has been completely disconnected so no chance of trash fuel being sent through fuel system. Big dent in bottom of the tank held a few extra gallons of sludge) So no bad stuff through the fuel system, Just 93 fresh 93 octane.

Here is the good: The driveline was untouched by the tree impact. Interior as well. basically, the chassis it toast (as if you can't see that already). The front end and air dam are in good shape, and whatever damage it might have is from actual road use and being removed repeatedly over the years to move it (2 moves). If you believe you will be repairing this chassis, thiink again. you're much better off buying a donor chassis and doing a swap. All of the goods that make this car a beast are untouched. Engine, transmission, suspension, adjustable Bilsteins, adjustable swaybars, corrected camber subframe, interior, Euro front, wheels, brakes.. its all there. (Too bad someone didn't understand what a parking brake was back in 1996, huh?)

-Stage 2+ Turbo upgraded motor from Korman Autoworks. Full dyno charts and break-in; rated at 330hp. Ran from day 1 on Redline synthetic motor oil. Water-to-air charge intercooler. Schrick cam, larger injectors, etc, etc. Full internal build, not a bolt on kit.

-Momo interior package, This car has Custom blood red leather power Recaro seats. I have never seen seats in this color of red before, you will have that one-of-a-kind interior people will notice! Some signs of use but otherwise very clean. Momo Wheel, shifter.

-Full Euro front end air dam and grilles. Euro headlamp wipers and Hella lamps (rare!) and Alpina body kit. Receipts for everything.

-BBS RS 3 piece 16x7 /16x8 Chrome and gold wheels. Straight, no bends or signs of curb damage. One front wheel has a small spot of rust on an inner lip, about 3/4" of an inch long but otherwise wheels are near perfect. You would have to look hard for damage. Tires brand new from 1996, no cracks or dry-rot but I wouldn't recommend using them after this amount of time.

Camber-adjustable rear subframe. Korman 28mm Frt Swaybars, 22mm Adjustable Rear sway bars. Bilstein Shocks. The car was lowered correctly.

And much, much more.

Here is the bad:

The chassis is done. The drivers inside door suffered some cosmetic damage from limbs and tree branches, one hole punched in the door panel. The hinge was slightly sprung, the door extension stop broke and the door hyper-extended and bent the left front fender. Otherwise, it still shuts amazingly. The pass door was undamaged, but since the hit was on the pass side rear, the door will not shut, the r/r fender was pushed forward. Side skirts were removed for clearance getting it on and off the trailer. Still have them but they have some cracks. Fiberglass, repairable. The guy I purchased it from made a huge mistake prior to the accident- he never notified his insurance about the custom work on the car and the amount he paid for it, so they would only cover book value of the stock 79 BMW. They did allow him to keep the car and left it with a clean title, and thats how I ended up with it. He took a huge financial shot, even after what I spent buying it from him. I didn't get off cheap either, but I never expected it to sit for 13+ years either.

And another thing- don't come by and plan a low-ball, tire-kicking "Oh, look at these hoses. They will need replacement, so will this fuel line, so will the tires...." NO KIDDING! Its been sitting for 13 years! All of the rubber was sprayed down with protectant back in 1996 as a preservative, and most of the rubber hoses are soft and pliable. If you want to use the rubber fuel lines from 1996, thats your business, but don't plan on coming by and playing a game of 'tire kicking' and trying to lower my price based on a few dollars in hoses. I'm selling what amounts to a totalled chassis full of a LOT of rare and hard to find Korman performance parts and accessories and a turbocharged, fully built and RUNNING race motor. If it wasn't for the tree dent, you could drive this thing.

Right now I am entertaining serious offers from serious buyers. I am asking $5000 for the complete car knowing full well I could part it out and sell it for much more. I really don't want to sell it, but with a new baby here and the past years its been in storage, its going to waste. Its not a 'must sell' situation, just seeing if someone out there appreciates the E24 'Shark' as much as I do. No low-ballers please. I've had offers under my asking price and said no. If you think you can find a larger collection of documented Korman BMW Performance parts in one location - be my guest, otherwise- serious parties please feel free to contact me. I do NOT want to sell the interior separately, or anything else from the car for that matter. If you see the collection of "project" cars in my garage, you will understand why I do not need another pile of parts lying around. If you and a buddy each want separate parts from the car, pool your cash and split up the car later. I just don't have the time to strip this car for parts, even though I know I could make more money doing so.

NO TRADES! Seriously please. If you have any questions, I may be reached by cellphone at:

678-447-6486. Leave a message if I don't answer.

Thank you

Wow, that car was beautiful! That interior is amazing! So sad to see it wrecked.

I say you put all of your other projects on the back burner and get that thing up and running again.

There's no way you'd part with those rims, huh?

Good luck with the sale!

That 20+ year old Korman engine would need a total comprehensive re-fettle to be road worthy again. Wow, top quality work for back in the day though, that's for sure.

I don't buy the "kicked it out of gear" story. A more likely scenario was the 16 year old owner doing 35mph in reverse.
