Yes, love it! I'm a naked bike fan myself, and that one is pretty sweet. That said, for $8k I'd spend a little more and get a Ducati or pick up a Triumph Triple...

that was part of the appeal to me. I like things that are different, funny, unusual etc.
the best is that people of all ages and sizes ride.. of course most of the 300 lb guys are swapped, its a pretty common thing to see. and people from 18-60 years old.

while a large part of riding one is knowing that you'll have the whole "look at me im different" attention... we enjoy it.. we put a lot of work into these things and for the most part don't mind the attention. (good or bad) b/c they are being recognized either way for what they are... out of the ordinary.

you should see the faces we get every Thursday at Bike Night @ Twin Peaks here.. its really a good time.
and the scene (around here at least) is the best one I've been a part of yet. always helpful, knowledgeable and for the most part, sensible.

nothing like riding around town with anywhere from 5-50 rucks.. its really a good time just cruising around on something slow, easy to ride and cheap as all hell on gas.
i'll be heading to Orlando this year for the cocoa beach ride!

here's a video of the super sunday they have in Cali every year.

oh and the front whitewall is on.. I forgot to update.

I know I still owe you guys a review and better pics than these, but wanted to share that I finally received my rear seat cowl last weekend that I ordered back in March when I bought the bike! I have been waiting on this piece so that I could also install a Yoshimura Exhaust bracket so that I could then also remove the passenger pegs. Finally completed all three of those tasks today. Also shown in the pics is the OEM touring windshield which I previously posted about.

Thanks JB. Yesterday I scored a used, but really good condition headlamp housing for a decent price. Saving up so that I can use that for a projector retrofit for HIDs in the future.

Stopped in a local shop yesterday afternoon to look at one. All sold out, so I wound up drooling on a BMW F800GT, only triple the price of the Ninjette.

A guy there said he could put my name on one, but I'm not really in the market right now.
My wife's deal is that I can buy a bike when our youngest is in high school

After sitting on the F800 for a bit, I love it. But $13k is pretty steep.

Ugh! Found fluid dripping from the front caliper. I don't think it's the brake. I think the fork seal is gone. I've noticed a little more travel in the front suspension, i thought it was just me braking harder, but after this mornings inspection before riding I think I found the culprit. Hoping to drop it off at the shop this afternoon and get it looked at. I'd tackle it myself, but don't have the tools or the time for this particular repair at the moment.

Never expected something like this to happen at approx 2,000 miles. I hope the warranty covers it.

Have you seen/sat on the FZ9 yet? I really liking the look of that bike and the performance it has to offer.

Service tech inspected the bike yesterday afternoon and couldn't find any leaks. Everything appears to be normal. He also said that as time goes on and the bike breaks in further, the suspension will begin to travel a little bit more than when it was new. So that may be what I was experiencing.

Going to keep a closer eye on her. Already do inspections on her when I ride, but will be more thorough to ensure everything is good.

On a side note, the guy that was in the shop in line ahead of me has a 300 as well. He had to lay it down because the bike shut off on him while riding! And the service tech verified there is an ECU recall because of this although there aren't replacement ECUs yet. Sucks for that guy, hope he gets Kawi to fix his bike, there was a good amount of damage to his bike because of it and it only had ~1K miles on it! I haven't had this problem, and as far as I know only certain VIN's are affected, I still need to check if mine is one of them.

Why would you have to lay it down? Did it just lock up & slide? I'd think if you had time, you could get the clutch in & coast to a stop?

Hoping yours doesn't turn out to be something serious.

If I recall, the service tech told me he was in the middle of a turn when it happened. Others on the forums have reported the same issue, some having to lay their bike down as well. This was one of the things I was going to bring up in my review.

Got the official recall notice in the mail for the ECU. Advised not to operate the bike until the ECU is replaced.

Called my local shop, could be 2-3 weeks until the part comes in and then another wait depending on how quickly I can schedule an appointment.

I am so upset about this. I bought this bike to commute to work to save money. Now I can't even do that for the next 3 weeks. Kawi is going to get a sharply worded letter from me about this.

Bike: 15 days (90mi/day * 1gal/60mi * $4.25/gal) ~ $95
Audi: 15 days (90mi/day * 1gal/21mi * $4.25/gal) ~ $273

ARRRRGGH! Not to mention paying for insurance and not even riding it.

And don't get me started on the amount of extra commute time... roughly an extra hour and a half per day

Caught a lucky break. Dealership got my new ECU in stock and was able to repair the bike yesterday well ahead of schedule. Was not looking forward to having to waste time and money for the next 2 weeks not being able to ride.

Took my K1200S to Cape Cod to do some whale watching. Gotta love that I can throw some bags on the bike and disappear for a day or even a weekend.

Just had the BMW in for its first service. Fresh oil, fresh tires, a few recall items taken care of, and a clean bill of health. Too bad work has been busy and the weather has been crazy up here in Boston.

Click here for the full update.

Note, photo is pre-service.

Received my CustomLED integrated blinker yesterday. Planning on using it only as a LED brakelamp instead of as an integrated blinker system. I'm keeping my oem indicators as I don't want to have to worry about cops and I think having the integrated blinks and the OEM indicators both going off is going to look goofy. Having the brighter LED brake light will be much nicer, and it has this brake alert feature that blinks fast when you first apply your brakes to get peoples attention. Will post pics after I get it installed.

Haven't been riding in a couple months now because I've been so busy with the newborn. Come January I'll be back on the bike for work, so long as it doesn't rain. I don't ride if there is any chance of it raining.

Finished Installing the Custom LED Taillight assembly earlier this afternoon. This taillamp is friggin' bright. Very high quality too. Only took a total of about 30-45 minutes to install. Most of that time was trying to figure out how to get the OEM assembly out as it's a snug fit because of the frame of the bike. Highly recommend this product if you are in the market for an LED taillight.

Ugh, I must make a mental pact with myself to be back on two wheels again by this time next year! January 2008 was the last time I had a bike (when I reluctantly sold my 2006 ZX-10R to buy my first Infiniti G37S) and lots of "life" events have taken place since then to keep me off of two wheels but no more! I make this solemn vow that before Xmas 2014 I will have a new bike in my garage so help me Lord!

I can always feel the itch coming on and suddenly I'll be making random visits to the local bike shops to start getting back into what's out and what I like. To be honest I was quite keen on the new ZX-6R which I see has returned to the 636cc engine from back in the day. That thing looked so awesome on the showroom floor I had to fight the urge to ask about financing right then and there! I also like the look of the new 600RR and have all but concretely decided that I will be going back to a 600 this time around. The ZX-10R was an amazing bike but had way too much power for me. I had a 2005 CBR-600RR before that and it was just perfect for my riding style. I may consider a 750 if the new GSX-R is any good but probably going with that Kawi 6R as of now...

Wow, that turned into a long post, sorry...

Ugh, I wish I had taken video of the before and after.

It's so bright, I don't know how to properly take video/photo of it, but I'll try to take some pics tomorrow. In the meanwhile, here is a video from the manufacturer:

Strobe mode is accomplished if you buy their 'blaster x' control module I think. I don't have the integrated blinkers plugged in. I'm only using this as a brake lamp. I'm keeping my OEM indicators because I don't want to deal with cops.
