Yeah for sure. I'm gonna take a MSF course around the end of the month if I even get my permit by then lol.
I'm probably going to get the SV650 but I'm looking into the Ninja 650 as well. Either way, insurance is way cheaper on these two than the sport bikes.
I'm going to be commuting a lot so mileage and comfort is a plus.

Not much power but that was a good thing to learn to ride on the street.
Then i got my first sport bike, a 93' gsxr 750. Lots of power -
but it was fine because it wasn't my first bike and i could handle it well.
then i stepped up to some cbr 900rr bikes, then some cbr 954rr's and now i have my second cbr 1000rr. The liter bikes are crazy fast - but only if i want it to be.
Start out on a smaller bike - you can always go bigger when you get some experience.

^ Sat on one at the International Motorcycle Show here in Charlotte a couple months back. Seriously thought about trading the 848 for one since I love naked bikes. Then I figured I'd just wait a few years and pick one up for much less. That way I can have my cake and eat it too

Just registered for my first track day at Summit Point. Just a couple minor things prior to Sunday and I'll be ready to go. Penske rear shock, Traxxion drop in fork kit, and Dunlop Q2s went on a couple weeks ago. Been breaking in my A* track suit... sizing is not kind for a tall skinny dude (and trying to fit a full back and chest protector). Can't wait, getting really excited.

Went riding last Saturday and a new rider joined the group. He collects Honda motorcycles, in his collection all of which are in excellent condition are
Five 1960's Honda small displacement motorcycles (can't remember all the models but you can see the pics). Note the 12K! tachs and vertical odometers.
1971 CB750
1975 Honda Goldwing (first year)
1985 500 Interceptor, same as mine but much better condition.
Some pics, poor Blackberry quality.

I dont have the link handy. I havent listed it on any of the forums yet either. Im hoping to get rid of it quick. Im motivated to sell, but I do know what its worth. Im willing to remove some of the mods too to drop the price, but I cant remove the exhaust.

TY. I still have the Honda, but that one is 1) not together ATM and 2) never being sold. The D675 is, unfortunately, dispensable.

Here's a couple pics from my track day at Summit Point
Definitely an eye opening experience. Shenandoah is a very technical track. I had to learn the technique and riding position (stuff I thought I had a firm grasp on with my road riding experience). Glad I picked up the SV because I couldn't image doing it with my GSXR600, let alone any 600cc bike. It was interesting to watch the intermediate riders and their form. I was surprised to see the different bikes out there too (lots of ninja 250s, motards, and your 600rrs and GSXRs).
I accidentally locked up my rear brakes right before a turn during my second session. I couldn't relax and was extremely tense (thought I was way over my head). Thankfully, I got a little more comfortable towards the afternoon.
I'm hoping to go out again during Memorial Day weekend and get more comfortable and more experience. Hopefully I'll be more relaxed and be able to enjoy the whole experience more.

Makes sense. Its safer that way too. You dont have any soccer moms in Suburbans aiming for you on the track.

Its the perfect time to sell. Its warm/hot out and people are getting their tax returns.
