Blundell the Journalist – Group C Le Mans
Does Blundell write for any magazines? If he doesn’t, he should. In EVO Magazine issue 157 he writes about his experience at Le Mans in 1990 with the Nissan R90CK which was a V8 and twin turbocharged and made over 1,100bhp!
He establishes his route to Le Mans that year and gave a real sense of what that week was like for him and the Nissan team and when everything seemed to be going wrong.
The Blundell takes us through his qualifying run which ended up with him putting the car on pole by 6 seconds. The wastegate was jammed closed and overboosting, the team told Blundell to to pit and not bother with the lap, Blundell disagreed.
<code></code>
Blundell says because of the running problems, he had no idea how much powert the car actually had until he came on to the pit straight to start his qualifying lap. He had no idea of his braking points because he had never travelled that fast down the straights, 238mph between the chicanes on the Mulsanne!!
My favourite part? “Every input was pure relfex – things were coming at me everyehre I looked. For about 50 percent of the lap I felt like I was on the verge of a massive accident.” – Absolutely amazing story

46 Minute Video but if you have time, it's worth it.
Very interesting to say the least, but the cars are drool worthy

^^ Loved the video. I didn't see the variety of cars that I thought I'd see though. There is so much wrong there, from the perpetrators to the government (really) allowing that to happen.
