Ok between that M5 and this I am pretty sure my brakes definitely need to be painted yellow.

And this is of Synths NSX, it's my backgroud. I made it darker compared to the original and I wanted the car to stand out a bit more - I hope he wont mind (don't laugh at my pathetic photoshop skills).

This is my new favorite thread.

Would be better without the 458 though.

Ferrari has definitely made better looking cars, but there is no denying the 458s abilities.

I'm guessing you don't like the Enzo either, because to me, the 458 looks like a baby Enzo.

No, I don't particularly like the Enzo. It's actually uglier, but I give the 458 more shit because it devolved from the particularly beautiful 430. I really don't care that it's technically a great car.

Top five since 1990 (since who doesn't love a 250) in no particular order
F430
575M
F355
California
599

I may have missed one, but I think that's good.

Interesting. I loved the F430 as well, but not a big fan of the 599.

Interesting. I find the California and 599 to be ugly.

These belonged to a couple of the guys that were invited to the Gallardo Roadshow when I went. I find the 2nd to be so much more aesthetically pleasing than the 1st.

I wasn't a fan until I got to see the 458 in the flesh a few times. Watching the 458 wax the F430 on Youtube was icing on the cake.

which is why I asked. I think the California is one of the ugliest Ferraris made, I'd group it right up there with the Mondial. And, the 599 has similar cues (although I sure wouldn't mind driving a 599 esp a GTO). I also was not a big fan of the Scaglietti, another similarly curvy model. I think this explains a lot about our preferences. I wasn't too hip on the 430 either. I liked it, but I never lusted over it. I do lust over the 458.

Funny, Im not a fan of the 430, I like the 599, and the California looks awkward. The 355 and 575 have an elegant design, I love them.

Id have to toss the F50 Berlinetta, 512TR, and the FF onto that list. I also love the 288 GTO but thats an 80s car (the 512TR was from 91-94).

I still have a special place in my heart for the 308...must have been all those Magnum PI episodes I watched when I was a kid.

my favs, in a general order...
- F40
- 512TR (such a sucker for the TR, I blame Miami Vice - but I didn't like the styling on the F512M too much - the 512TR was, well, perfect.)
- F50
- Enzo
- 458
- 355

Forgot about the 288GTO.... that should be somewhere up there too ^^^^

1985 Ferrari Koenig Competition Evolution - 1000hp, top speed 229mph. looks dated now but I used to lust after this car. I still like most everything except for the headlights, turn signals, and mirrors...

Yeah, I'm much more a fan of the curvy models so you can see where I get my preferences. I don't think the California is the best of my five, and I was actually considering exchanging it for the 456. But from certain angles, it really pops. And reminds me of the original.

What really turns me off about the 458 is the nose and the side windows. You can obviously tell where they got the inspiration for the latter, but the nose and especially lights? I just don't see the appeal.

I think we should have a Ferrari appreciation thread. :megusta:

Kind of looks like a kit placed on a Nissan 300Z.

Yeah one of my best friend's has a black on beige California. He also has a LP560-4 so his taste isn't hopelessly bad. Anyhow, we were driving to the club with the top down after having a few martinis on the beach (if you've ever been in the California's back, the seat is elevated so you're higher than the front passengers). With the wind in my hair and the smell of salt water all I could think about was Wham's "Wake me up before you go-go" scene in Zoolander and how absolutely ghey 4 guys must look in an open top California.
