Is it supposed to be like this in stock?? or maybe it's a paint defect??
It's like that on my S4 too.

For some reason my ms paint is off my comp, so I can't draw an arrow but in this pic you can see what I think you are talking about - the textured area below the door/fender

No idea what purpose it serves

So, I heard we can play a DVD movie when the car is parked. Is it hard to make it work while the car is moving?

Also, Sly, where did you get your APR reflash? Is it really worth it??

I found this. http://www.trick77.com/tools/mmi3g_vimcode.php

I think this is the solution to the playing the DVD while the car is moving, but I have no idea how to do it.

Hmm.. from my little understanding, the B8s come with 3G MMI based Navigation and the B7s had 2G. What year is your S6?

And I'd like to point out, although I've mentioned it before, the S6 isn't mine. It is my dad's. He had a stroke a few months ago and isn't driving so I've assumed responsibility of making sure the car is driven. I don't need someone trying to call me out as some internet poser

The bubbly stuff is kinda like bedliner I think, or a more durable body panel. They just paint over it so it blends better. I would think it's a little more durable because on the underside of the rocker panels gets a lot of pebbles flung up against them.

You'll notice pretty much every truck out there has this. I can't see it in the pic (terrible quality btw ) but I assume that's what you guys are talking about. It just has texture to it, right?

I'm not sure. I used navi yesterday but it didn't have any structures on it, just the road. So probably not.

I mean there's an option to change the navi screen to show either 2D or 3D. But yours doesn't have that option, then it must be a 2G MMI.

http://www.trick77.com/tools/mmi2g_vimcode.php This is for the 2G MMI. Read up on it.

Yeah because wouldn't it be cool to have your navi to play dvd movie while moving?? I mean it's not for everyday but for occasional snowboard trips and craps, it'll be great..

Take a look in the owners manual. There should be a table listing all of the bulbs.

Also, if you go under the hood and look at the headlight housing, and do not see a warning on there for 10,000 Volts, you probably have regular bulbs. If that's not the case, then they are probably D2R or D2S. you should be able to simply twist the back of the housing (right where the wires are going in) and it should come out. Take a picture of it and post it. Or just read the base of it, it should tell you.

I thought the lens have the factory bulb type/number stamped on the them. Once you know if you have halogen bulb or HID use this to determine what you need http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...de/default.htm

Beautiful cars! I now have an itch to buy an Audi to replace the CL, but I won't for a few more years. I'll continue drooling for now.

If you look closely at the lamp lense it will list what kind of bulb. HID will say "D2S" and halogen will say "H#" (H7, H11, etc) usually its on a lower corner edge of the plastic lense.

Call the dealer/parts department? They should be able to tell you pretty much instantly.

Oh and a more detailed title about what your question is would probably solicit more replies. Let me know if you want me to edit it...

It also partially has to do with how the car is meant to be jacked up in that area. There's a pinch weld where that dip in the skirt is and it's reinforced so it doesn't bend.

Pain in the ass to clean, though. The dirt kinda gets stuck there.

If you bought a H7 HID kit, this means the kit will fit in a socket designed for an H7 bulb. Assuming the car does have that, then it should work.

Now, 8000K is stupid, as the light will have more of a blue / purple color. The right color temperature is about 4500 - 5000K for an HID look. This light will be very white.

The first time I saw the color I fell in love. After an Anthracite Metallic CL-S and a Carbon Gray Pearl TSX, it will be a nice change.

H7 is a halogen bulb, but they do make those HID retrofit kits where they put an HID bulb on a halogen bulb base. Most people don't recomend these since they often use cheap parts. (Technically they're not street legal either.)

I'd just get a pair of Philips X-Treme Vision H7's. Those will actually help you see better.

Check this out! Anyone heard of them?

Carbon fiber front grille, side skirt, and rear valence would look great!

Well, like i said i bought my friend a HID kit for his volvo S70 8000k, its looks amazing the visiblity is ridiculous, my point was though it was mentioned that H7 would be a halogen bub (regular) and the kit i got used H7 bulbs, so isnt it still HID?? i mean thats what it says? So if the AUDI is H7 then its HID too correct? because i found it its H7 bulbs for the low beams? meaning i could just get it for e.g. 8000K H7 BULBS and it will bright and bright on the AUDI.

I got a question.

Just now, my gf and I went to the Home Depot and on the way back, we wanted to stop by the BofA ATM to deposit a check.

As I was looking through the Point of Interest section, it suddenly froze. It's more like lagging, very bad.

The other functions were working fine..

Anyone had anything like that?

It can't possibly lag more than the Acura DVD navi.
I'm sure though, that since it's HDD-based, the longer it goes, the slower it'll get. I wish it was SSD based. Maybe that can be a mod?

^ hmm.. maybe because i pressed wrong button and search the entire nation's grocery store list?

But, still, if that's going to lag the system that much (it took like 10 seconds to go back), should they do something about that to fix it? It seems ridiculous. My gf was like wtf?? lol
