O yeh, finally got a motorcycle!
I've had it for a couple weeks now. It's the first bike I've ever really ridden. I still have no skills whatsoever, but I am getting better. It's a 2006 Ninja 250, and please do not go look up the thread I started many years ago about bikes in which I said 250's were stupid and fugly. They're not that fug. They are moderately unattractive, but not totally nasty. I'd like a prettier bike, but all the pretty ones are too big and I'm scared. I can't even touch on both sides of the 250.
Here are some pics I snapped of my first "mods." Took off some of the gheyflames, made my own fender eliminator, put in some grillz, and took off the passenger footpegs. Still gotta get the Goo Gone after the decal adhesive residue.
And here are some crap pictures from my friend's phone. I was moving it, so no, not riding gear-less.
I've not done any major highway riding or long trips. Just bumming around my country roads and a few trips into town. It's been a total blast so far. The nearest MSF course is 3 hours away and full for the rest of the summer, so I'll have to wait a bit on that. But yeah, I'm totally happy with it.

bikes are not pretty!
anyways, safe riding! I so want to get one too. Actually my best friend and I are considering taking motorcycle safety training so we can get our licenses and bikes later this year.
And on the somewhat ninja, but you gotta start somewhere. The point is to enjoy what ya have.

I'm not that bad. Just a complete newbie with a lot to learn. But I have a great teacher, and I am taking it super slow. I'm too scared to try anything remotely dangerous at this point, so yeah... totally being careful. Just working on the basics and my confidence.

As for the hotness factor, I think it'll be much hotter when I can get through a parking lot without wobbling... I don't think wobbling is hot, but that's just me. But thanks!

I've been riding for 3 yrs. Seen many people go down, and friends get hurt. Please wear your gear. Everytime. No matter if it's 110 degrees or nice and cool. You never know when something bad can happen. I have stories you would not want to hear or experience...so please always wear your gear. Always. Helmet/Leather Jacket/Gloves/Jeans...at the least, every time. NO shorts, short sleeve shirts, sunglasses.

Trixy, what a name! She is a looker though.
No A/C in 100 degree heat, that is awesome...wet t-shirt awesome!
But how do you have all these rides? Your family owns some Biloxi casinos?

These bike threads make me want a bike so bad. I know the chances of me getting one are low though,.......since I cant justify (or afford) paying the absolutely INSANE insurace for a bike here in Ontario.
For the ppl with bikes. How hot are those jackets that you wear? Is that the only thing that provides any protection (upper body), or is there other stuff you can get?
