According to Motor Trend, the TL concept is using air jets rather that wiper blades to clean the windshield. It does also confirm that a six-speed will be available for the first time.

nah honda officaly said the 04 WILL have wipers and side mirrors , those where just 'concept' pictures

 

Cool features they are, but those kinds of things will never come on a real car until they are approved by the Gov.

You can see the side mirrors at least ... too bad cause those cameras and non-wipers might have been cool

 

Damn those air jets sounded so damn cool too.

 

My friend worked on the 04 TL design team. Type S wont be available, all models will have 280-ish HP. They got the the engine to 300, but had problems cooling it, so had to back off. Will also have a 6 speed option. he didnt mention anything about wiperless windows, so probably not.

 

Hopefully 280 HP plus the FWD won't make the torque steer unbearable. That's one of the biggest gripes I've seen so far on the new Maxima.

 

Yeah, welcome to the world of concept cars. Lots of stuff you see on concepts never make it to production. I doubt we'll ever see air jets take the place of wipers in our time.

Remember when the Viper was a concept? It had exposed exhaust headers. Think of the law suits

Word is that and the rearview side cameras wont make production. Would be interesting if they did.

 

yeah, until they can kill all the birds, air jets will never replace wipers.

 

if they can do high pressure air wipers, they can do high pressure water/washer fluid nossles too and shoot that shit right off

 

Check out my link about ... the car has already been spotted on the street with the side mirrors. However ... pretty much the rest of the car seemed to be exactly like the concept !

 

this is already approved by the gov... most fighter jets now use them,,
