The deal finally went down and I'm the proud new owner of a 2007 Velocity Red Mica Mazdaspeed6! 30,700 well maintained miles and got a great deal on it with a great rate from my credit union. 3.49%!. Crazy to think just a week ago this car was in Boston, MA and now it's in Arizona and it's all mine.
It's also nuts to think in the two weeks of car searching, I bought another car and returned it the next day after I figured out it wasn't All Wheel Drive as advertised and probably test fit the baby seat in 5 different models of cars. It's been quite a journey, but I'm happy to say this car makes me smile and hope it will continue to for years to come.

Congrats Todd. She's a beaut! And I know that how great the car looks now, it will look even better when you're finished with it.

Finally.
Congrats.
Now join mazdaspeedforums.org! My user name there is the same.
Here's another Intro to Mazdaspeed thread.

You know me already. Feel free to ask me anything.
As for the engine oil, I do change mine every 3k miles with Pennzoil Platinum. People usually change the oil every 5k, but I don't drive much so, I just feel so good when I change it with fresh oil and filter.
Congrats.

Awesome. Congrats. I often see one in a parking garage, but I've never seen the owner to ask about it. I also really like its understated, almost Q-car design. There isn't much outside of the badge and extra bulge in the hood to indicate that's not an ordinary sedan.
So are things equally divided between Mazda and BMW-zines yet?

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the positive comments. I started seriously doubting I'd ever find a car I'd be happy with and comfortable in with passenger room, but this is definitely the one. I couldn't be happier with my decision.
Portland: I didn't have it shipped nor did I drive it out here. What happened is I found the car in a classified section on a Mazda forum and joined the forum just to PM the seller. I basically said if he would consider shipping the car out here I'd be interested in buying it. He wrote back the next morning with, "How about I drive it out to you in Arizona?". I was obviously doubtful that he was serious, but it turns out his wife's parents have a condo in the PHX area and they've both always wanted to do a cross-country drive. Plus it was Mother's Day so they were going to come out and surprise the parents. It was two weeks of constant communication with the owner (who is super, super knowledgable about the MS6 btw) and coordinating the whole trip/finance/purchase thing. It was stressful to say the least because I was still shopping local cars and doing tons of research on the MS6s and not liking what I was reading a lot of the time. After cutting through the BS I decided as long as the car is as advertised I'd buy it. They drove out, had the title over-nighted from their bank, we met at my bank today and finalized the deal. I even dropped them off at the airport after the deal. They were very cool people and I can honestly say I'd probably be friends with them if we didn't live nearly 3,000 miles away.
JS + MS3: Dude, I would love to mod it, but honestly it's perfect the way it is. I'll likely leave the engine as is, but I do definitely want to drop it a bit and possibly get new wheels. I L-O-V-E the current gen MS3 wheels like you have. I think they'd look dope on the MS6, but that's down the road. The only thing I'm spending money on in the near future is saving for the 'lil Trooper.
Rick: Thanks buddy, I'll for sure tell my wife you said hi! Tell your beauty queen I said hi as well. And yes we do... Kellan
I have to say this has been one of the strangest days of my life. Mid day I left work to buy a car from people that drove it here from Boston. Then tonight my wife and I went to see a screening of a documentary film called "Absent" which James Hetfield is in. He decided to come to our church to do a Q&A after the film. Yes, the James Hetfield from Metallica in our church doing a Q&A. To top it off there's a part in the film where he drops the F-bomb. I just sat there thinking to myself I just heard James Hetfield drop the F-Bomb in church. Surreal!

The 'lil Trooper should definitely be the top priority!
You can always mod it later in the future.
Just do the oil change frequently (like 3-4k miles) with some good synthetic oil!

ST, you should get this. This is a mod to delete the EGR pipe. This is one single mod to keep your engine clean! Your intake valves and engine will be protected from carbon deposits!
It's only $18 and I heard it's not too hard to install it.
The plate will cover a hole on one side, and the plug is for the other end of the pipe.
I actually have it and have to install it myself this weekend!

^ Oh yeah! it causes faulty CEL that you can turn it off with Cobb AP...
shit.. didn't think about that.. because pretty every mazdaspeed owners have tuning solutions like Cobb AP and CP-E Standback.
Nevermind, just get this when you start modding the car in the future.

I doesn't kill it quick but its doing it.
They put EGR there for a reason. Catalyst is doing its job but when no egr=more shit going into catalyst, you end with shitty catalyst quickly. Hope the fella you are gonna sell your car to after you are done with it and put it all back to stock, knows about it..
