Forget all that power, you'll need to actually stop somehow doing 150 mph. Braking 60-to-0 in 104 feet? Are you serious?

11.5 in the 1/4.....you can't run it at the track because you'd have to have a rollcage to run that fast! I am impressed! The 07 Shelby should be right there performance-wise. There is no replacement for displacement!

WOW, that is one badazz car!

And there is a replacement for displacement, I personally know quite a few people w/ 3.8L Turbo'd cars that run 10's all day w/ the AC on and get 25 mpg driving home! Judging from your S/C avatar I would think you would agree that there is a replacement! Regardless that car is sick and probably one everyones "wish list" now. The front end re-design is sexxy too!

Wow! Those are some serious numbers!

The key is a TALL 6th gear. That thing probably turns 2500RPM at 100MPH.

You'll get 19/28MPG if you drive it like an 80 year old lady. I'd probably just average around 10 to 13MPG if I was behind the wheel.

100 mph in 6th gear in my GTO is exactly 2,500rpm and on the highway I get between 24-27mpg... Off the highway, I'm avg. about 16.8mpg ---- Now I'm not doing 11.5's... But damn the Z06 is amazing.

A 127mph TRAP!

But also a healthy torque curve to still allow it to pull at very low revs in such an overdriven gear.

Agreed, while the acceleration is extremely impressive for a production vehicle. The overall performance is stagerring at that price.

I do hope Top Gear tests this one as well. After the not-so-flattering C6 test, this one should open even a British eye.

as i've stated, we never see below 20 mpg in our C5 and i've witnessed 30+. The new Z06 will most likely get better mileage w/ the gearing it has and the fact you won't need to be on the motor at all to get moving.

when the old Z06 came out the petitioned the NHRA ruling to show the car is infact built from the factory w/ a proper roll cage to run up to 10.99 from what I remember. This should be the same case.

I know the same applies to ORR racing.

Remember that the old corvettes had that 1st to 4th skip shift feature in order to obtain good gas mileage so this probably has that too and that's the reason for it's good city mileage and like people have already said before with that much torque and a probably a tall sixth gear that gas mileage isn't out of the question.
