New vehicle.....
New vehicle.....
but not mine unfortunately, oldman's new whip (07 XLR V)......drove a bunch of cars and ended up with this. The deal was an absolute no brainer in comparison to what else was considered.
Only posting it because its not a mainstream choice, if it were an SL I wouldn't have even bothered posting pics.
Very fun to drive, interior is simple but the materials & fit/finish are top notch on the V. Almost all surfaces are leather (including the rear deck and roll bars), textured aluminum, and Zingana wood. Gauges could be a little more exciting, but they work and look ok in person.
As expected, it does get a large amount of admiring attention as the car is not all that common.
Buddy took the photos, but wasn't overly happy with the result due to lighting.

i dont know what it is about GM cars but they always seem to have an enormous wheel gap and it's almost always larger in the rear than the front. aside from that and those gauges that look like they came straight out of a cavalier, that is one nice car. not too fond of the inside but the outside is great. plus the engine is

Beet.....Thanks, they do try when choosing a new vehicle. But make no mistake, my oldman is not a car enthusiast.

Definitely not a car those that need room, its low on utility that's for sure.
The engine is actually handbuilt at the performance center where the Z06 motors are assembled.
Ride is very compliant, even with the Pirelli 19in runflats. Has a touch screen Nav system which works well.

Compared to the M3, hard to say at this point....but can say the M3 would be a tough act to follow.
Sweet ride!! I've never actually seen one of those in person until we moved down here. Still don't see a lot of them, but every now and then. However, most of them are the standard XLR and not the XLR-V.
Funny enough, last week at the mall the valets had one parked right in front. Nice silver one. Not sure if it was a V or not... I think it was, but not 100% sure. It definitely got a lot of looks from people walking by.

yep. lots of times it's good not to follow the crowds. i don't see many out here. but a doc has silver one over at work. do the brakes do their job quickly? it sure looks like they might.
awesome car and pics!
i love the mesh grill on the V's. i agree that the interior and guages are a little bland. but maybe it's because in comparison, the exterior is so stunning.
hope your dad enjoys the car!

Awesome car for what you get. I would love to have one as a daily driver. I have been hearing that they are not selling that well and that you can pick one up for a great deal.
Edit: Your friend needs to quite bitchen about the light-the pics that you have uploaded have been B-E-A-UTIFUL.

They are soft, its just one of those things. People who think $80-$100k, generally don't think Cadillac. For the 06 model year they built 1,147 V's (226 were Infrared) out of the 4,300 and change XLRs.
You can get a nice deal on a new XLR, even the V....its all still relative because they are pricey to begin with. It definitely pays to lease them.
Agreed, I think the photos are nice.
Brakes wise, they seem just fine to me. In an 06 review one article said that the brake pedal felt spongy, well I haven't noticed that in the time I spent in the car. But what I do know is that for 07, they did address several issues that were complained about.
Ah, those Cadillac Vs sounds incredible. First time I heard a CTS-V start up when they first came out, I was like what the heck was that?! I found out that Cadi had started this whole V line and since then I always notice and hear them around town.
Nice purchase on something unique.
