New Toys

I just purchased these Pacesetter Headers and Texas Speed Off Road Y Pipe for my LS1 Trans Am. Without a tune, i should see around 335 hp and 365 ft lbs of tq to the wheels. With a tune, i should see around 335-355 horses and about 375 tq to the wheels. The car is going to wake up so much more across the board but the main thing is that for $ 535, it is the best bang for the buck mod that i can do to my car. Also i have a custom grind cam coming that will get me around 400 horses with a tune, give or take a few ponies, but i will def make a lil over 400 ft lbs of tq to the wheels. Next step after that is stage II ported LS6 heads and a forged 427. By the end of the year i should see very close to 600 horses and almost 700 ft lbs of torque on a small cam with god idle. Andby next summer, i should have my druvetrain and suspension work done also. I freakin love this car. Here are pics of the headers.

Sweet! My '66 Mustang's got an exhaust similar to that, but I've got Hedman Headers and Flowmaster Delta flow 55 series mufflers, should sound nice and deep without sounding too loud..

LT1 is an Iron block motor. LS1 Is aluminum, the motors are completely different. LS1 are better engines, but dont sleep on the LT1's. Being iron blocks make them very turbo friendly.

The LS1's computer is 100% tunable. I can adjust everything from a/f to timing to shift points. Everything can be tuned. Stock cars see upwards of 15 to 25 horses extra when tuned. Worked cars can see almost 40 horses tuned.

Ed, i remember you showing me pictures of the car, i forgot how it looks. Post some pics. And those Flowmaster chambered mufflers sound so deep, i have heard them on an L96 vette, and they sounded wicked. I went with a texas speed straight through design, since i am single exhaust, anything chambered will hinder flow. I may need to go with a Borla XR-1 muffler, because this thing is going to be too loud with long tubes, straight pipes, and a bullet muffler.

I went to the track a few weeks back. With Exhaust and Lid, 1/2 tank of gas and stock tires i pulled a 13.2 at 109.

With headers the headers, gears and verter, i should be deep in the 12's, even high 11's with slicks.
