I just went to circuit city, and they ran it through the fuse box using the cigarette lighter adaptors that came with the units. no worries now. my only concern at the beginning was that both units say to not modify the 12v DC adapters in any way or it could damage the units. An electronics guru I am not, but I was hoping that Sarlaac, who seems to know everything, could helpe me out on this one, too. Guess not.

I got my wife one for Christmas and she just loves it. Consumer Reports agrees and in the most recent issue rated it the "Best Buy". Another plus is that it's small enough to actually carry around in your pocket when you visit a strange city and just want to go for a long walk.

An interesting feature is that it not only will tell you where to go but where it's been. It can be connected to a usb port and will map this out for you. If you wish to take it to Europe, Asia etc., you can download maps off the web to it's hard disc.

paid $368 at an online store back in December.
