New TL/ TSX
New TL/ TSX
This is an excerpt from Jim Mateja's column in today's Chicago Tribune. Anyone have any other information on the TSX?
The latest from AutoHorizon--the Automotive Future Today, what has become a reliable Internet automotive intelligence newsletter:
- Perhaps a light-duty truck is in the offing for '06 from Honda off the next-generation '05 Odyssey minivan platform--maybe with a V-8. With a new Accord coming this fall, Acura will follow with a new and larger TL sedan built off that Accord platform for '04. A new Acura TSX sports sedan might bow for '04, slotted below the TL to compete against the Audi A4 and BMW 3-Series. And Honda is considering a sport wagon for '04 called Latitude based on the seven-passenger Stream sold in Japan and Europe.

Okay if the TSX is "under" the TL but is to compete with the 330 and A4, I guess that means they're getting rid of the TL, because the TL is already just barely comperable to a 330. Or is the TL going to replace the RL as Acura's option for underpowered luxury?
There really isn't the room for RSX, TSX, TL, and RL. At least one of those is overlapping almost entirely in purpose.

No, TSX will be the bridge between the RSX and TL. In acura's eyes the new redesign of the TLS will bring in on par with the 5 series. TSX will be the 3 series and A4 competitor. Once the TSX starts to get into the 3 series market Acura will base the new sports luxo coupe of the TSX platform.
RWD, don't hold your breath.

Could it be this?
What do you Coupe ppl have against Sedans....Just because it has 4 doors doesn't mean it's any less sportier.... hence the word "Sport Sedan"...The reason why i bought the TL-S is because i thought it looked better then the redesigned CL-S (this is in my opinion...so please don't start flaming on me becuase i said this in a CL forum). BMW makes one of the best sport sedans...this 4 door car handles better than Acuras 2 door cars.
