New mods to the Cobra

Well I ordered the Bassani exhaust yesterday....next week will be the headers and X-pipe....then i'll probably wait a few weeks then get the new chip and pulley upgrade...all in all it should put me around 480rwhp...that should last for a while, til I swap out the blower

Cool. Hopefully that'll be good for awhile (at least till you hit the track)...

If that stuff didn't void the factory warranty....I would have had it done within the first week I owned the car!

It does, but the guys who are doing the work said if anything goes wrong they will return it back to stock, no questions asked or payment needed...hopefully nothing will go wrong that is warrantable

Goto SEMA.org and read the Magnusson Act(Sp?). Ford cannot void your warranty without proof that the pulley or computer was the cause of the problem you are having. For example, if you blew your engine, Ford has to prove that it was the pulley that caused it. For the pulley, IF you do have a major malfunction, simply remove it. Swapping a pulley is a really simple job.

Secondly, Ford will not know that you have a chip, per my research. If you use a chip, such as the tuner offered by SCT tuning, it saves the stock programming so you can revert to it at a later time. If a problem occcurs, reflash the stock program back before taking it to the dealer.

I just ordered my Steeda cold air intake today. It should be good for about 20-30hp on the dyno, and I already have Borla Stingers.....which is good for another 10-20hp. As for the pulley and chip.....I'm gonna wait until the warranty is up....then IF I keep the car....its getting the Kenne Bell blower with a professional tune.

A 2.81 pulley is $80 and will put smiles on your face. I don't know what tuner is the best, but thats a couple hundred bucks. I love the whining sound of a pullied Cobra!

If I do a pulley, I'd do a 2.93 pulley. The 2.8 is usually too small for the stock blower....and there is a good chance of belt slippage.

With an intake and exhaust....I'll be above 400hp to the wheels.....putting on a pulley and changing the computer will give me another 35-40hp.....and void my warranty. The dealer can tell if you change the computer.....even if you reflash the computer to stock.....and they can tell if a pulley has been changed too.

Me with 400hp is good enough for now....when I get bored with the car....then I'll do some more stuff to it!

Can you provide me with information regarding the dealer knowing the car has been flashed? I want to get an SCT tune for my 05' and have done much research and have found the opposite.

I know plenty of people w/ flashed ecu's on cars and not one has ever had a problem, I doubt ford is ahead of porsche and audi in detecting things like this

only thing I can think that they'd know you changed pulleys are maybe by marks on the bolt, but even then they couldn't prove anything

That program clears MIL lights, so I would assume it wipes clean any history. I am sure if you pull the negative cable for 24 hours it will do the same. I know thats how I do it on my Maxima.

Not sure if the tracks are still open, but if I can get to one before they close, I'll be sure to have some video footage...just some useful info...a guy came to the dyno day this past weekend...he had a chip, 2.80 pulley upgrade, bbk throttle body, and CAI...put down 460rwhp and 492ft/lbs...not too shabby (w/out exhaust too)... so im hoping for about the same...now its just a matter of TIME b/c the parts arent going to be here for another week or two and the guys that are going to put them on are going to Viper Nationals in Florida this weekend...i'll post some vids/numbers when I get them all hooked up

changing the pulley on a car that already comes blown from the factory and adding n20 to my car is not really an equal comparison,

i still would consider n20 on other cars though, even without spray our tranny's are going out everyday, i cant afford to shell out 3-4k to get a new tranny put in if my warranty is voided
