Oh and dont put a 12inch sub in the car. You will lose part of your hearing by the time you turn 30.

Ask me how I know.

Great car, I used to have one. I had a Carbonio CAI and a Magnaflow muffler. Sounded great but it wasn't very fast.

I liked RS4 Replicas and there was a black GLI that rocked MAE rims. This car was one of my favorites.

Welcome. This part of the site is known as BMWAudiVWHyundaiSubaruCadlillac-zine. We're a vocal group, and appreciate all that does not look like the 4G TL.

And second the sub suggestion..... Better to spend it on better overall speakers and a nice amp for the head unit.

I'm not sure if they have an official site but they're made by MAE.

Welcome and congrats on your first car! As far as mods go, I would start with wheels and suspension, then exhaust/intake route. And definitely stay away from stupid trunk rattling subs, I hate that shit.

Welcome! Also don't feel like you must own an Acura to be here. Most of us older school members don't own one anymore. But we stay here because we are part crazy, and partially because of the good people on here.

Last I've heard the BSH CAI was the best for the 2.5L and I love the sound of the AWE Tuning. It's the best sounding catback imo.

I'd drop it before the wheels though. Looks ugly when it's not dropped.

For those of you who are wondering, OP is my girlfriend's little brother. My girlfriend also made an account here on Acurazine so keep an eye out for her. I'm surprised she hasn't posted some dumb shit in here yet.

Do I get paid for referring people to the site?

Matt you've gotta have deep pockets for those wheels you listed BUT I think the BBS CK would look best on your car...

Also, just from experience buying dumb tacky shit for my car, try to get a theme for your car. If you want all dark colored stuff, don't go out and buy a red intake, etc etc. I bought a bunch of stuff for the TL that didn't go together so now I'm backtracking trying to fix it. It's time and money consuming.

+1 on drop before wheels. Think about how my car looks now. Even though I'm on stockies, it still looks (relatively) cool because it's low, but it didn't look cool on 20s because of the wheel gap.

You know I'm here to help you out! Good luck with everything!

There is such a thing as too low. The drop should make it so that the wheel wells surround the wheels perfectly, not make the car look like it's getting smashed onto the wheels.

Picture-wise, I love when a car is that low. Is it practical for a DD though? Of course not. I posted the picture to show the wheels I was referring to, not to show how low he should go.

Lowering springs on stock shocks can prematurely blow the shock. That's what I have on my TL but I wouldn't be surprised if they gave out soon.

Word. It's best to save up and get coilovers than to risk damaging your suspension. You may get lucky with just springs if the drop isn't too aggressive, but no matter what your ride will be too bouncy due to lack of damping.

I'm going through the same dilemna as far as which route to take with suspension. Since you're not going for a dramatic drop, I think you'll be okay with stock shocks. Maybe you can upgrade them down the road. That's what I'm doing.

Oh yeah, and you'll find that most people here in Car Talk are pretty anti-Acura for an Acura website

I met up with Matt earlier today and took a few pictures of his car. Since his last post he's added European tail lights and front plate, clear side markers, and 35% tint.

One of my car

And the best website of them all...
