New Lexus LF-A and and LS Sport arriving soon!!
Well I must say I'm really impressed with the way Lexus has upped its game.
The first all hybrid luxury car in the HS and now these two bad ass cars follow.
The LS Sport sorta reminds me of the BMW Alpina B7.
Check out the new LS Sport:
http://www.lexus.com/models/LS/sport/index.html
And the LF-A is sweeeeeet. It's like a mixture of the Nissan GT-R, Audi R8, and Ferrari/Lambo. I wish Acura would stay true to the NSX production. For one reason, the NSX would be way more affordable than the LF-A!
"As expected, the Lexus LFA features an all-new 4.8L V10 with a screaming red line of 9,000rpm. Power is rated at 552 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. The net result of Toyota’s efforts is a vehicle that can accelerate from 0-60 in just under 3.7 seconds, with a claimed top-speed of 202mph. Sales will be limited to just 500 units, with no more than 20 examples to be made per month. As with most supercars, the LFA will be highly customizable, with buyers able to choose from 30 paint colors or delete standard equipment such as the car’s audio system. The Lexus LFA will first launch in the UK, carrying a hefty price of £336,000 ($557,000)."

Acura is quickly losing ground to tier 1 autos.

The LS looks like a Avalon in that first picture but the woodgrain interior is so sexy.
As for the LF-A, it's sexy as hell, but not for $557,000

LF-A is a very hot looking car sounds very sexy too but for the price and still being a Lexus i wouldn't spend that money even if i had it on a Lexus. Even though considering as a super car does it really worth 557,000 ? i rather spend the money on a Lambo LP640. Lexus is doing a great job on their production of cars that i give a thumbs up on but for $557,000 on a lexus naw not worth it

LS and SPORT shouldnt be in the same sentence. something about the LS is such a turnoff. LS = 70+ retired jewish man (no hate). if i want a saloon, i want something muscular. the LS is way too posh for its size. an LS is like dramine, get a whiff and youll start falling asleep.

Here's a slammed one for comparison. THIS is what Toyota should bring to the US.

I disagree. The new LS looks pretty sharp for an Ogigi (old guy in Japanese) car. Toyota has done this for a lot of years with the Toyota Crown. Their sporty model is called Athlete. So the LS looking a bit like an Athlete is pretty cool.

I don't care very much for that much of a drop, however, it's a very nice looking car.

A. how does japan's tuner crowd correspond to the LS's american demographic?
B. if toyota brought that to the U.S. its sales would be so minimal it wouldnt even offset toyotas shipping costs! it would be a complete failure. i already have doubts with this LS sport...i cant see lexus turning a profit from it. its more so of a marketing investment for the brand, i suppose. seriously, how many sales are they forecasting for an LS Sport? there is such little demand...for sake of argument, a stateside aftermarket company that manuf. lexus bodykits would go out of business if it didnt export.

I, personally, am very impressed with the LF-A. If that price tag weren't an issue, it would be one of the hottest selling exotic cars out there. It will go to those who have the money to spend on exclusivity.
As far as the LS sport goes, it will sell. Think of it selling at the rate and demand that the Audi S8 and Mercedes S63/65 sell.
Acura...........where's the NSX?

The LS is just straight up pimp though. I didn't get to drive it much beyond moving it from one lot to another, but its just pure luxury on the inside. The long wheelbase model has reclining seats in the rear and I lost count of how many speaker components there were in the car.
I don't care what people say, the self-parking thing is a trip! I only tried it once and it got it in perfectly. Don't know if I'd trust it enough everyday though, all it takes is one sensor to go bad....

+1, some people are advocating the fact as to how the performance and the exclusiveness is the reason why Lexus has opted to price it this high but who are we kidding here? Granted Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati are charging way upwards of the 300k mark but those companies have exclusiveness due to their heritage not because of production numbers. Heck the Tata motor group can produce 100 of the Nanos but it doesnt mean they will ask people to pay 100k for it cause of the exclusiveness
I fail to fathom how Lexus can come up with that figure when you can buy a ZR1 for 1/3 of the price or the GT-R for 1/5th of the price without compromising much in performance.
I love the LF-A and I love the engineering behind it, I just dont understand the pricing/marketing and sadly enough all 500 will be sold without a doubt, in a jiffy.

Love both of these cars. I drove an LS when we were looking for my fiance's new car and it is sooooo Beautiful inside and out with a creamy smooth V8 and whisper-quiet interior. Definitely the ultimate cross-country tourer....
I've said this many times but the LF-A is an astounding piece of engineering. Not sure why so many are up-in-arms over the high price though. THey are made from 60%+ carbon fiber, most of the engine's moving parts are titanium, they are hand bult, and there will only be 500. If Porsche/Ferrari/Lambo/even Audi were producing this exact car nobody would have a problem with a $375k pricetag. Why is the amount of technology, development, and materials supposed to be cheaper just because a japanese firm built it????

The argument has never been the cost of development etc, I for one think that a car maker such as Toyota can easily transfer the savings achieved through economies of scale onto the customer, heck if GM and Nissan can do it then why can't Toyota?

little bit capitalist of them. but this is an opportunity for a company with well respected engineering to release its first ever supercar. yes, its exclusive, and yes the potential buyers dont have a money cap.
the rich are getting richer in this marginal economy. it's the land of 6/7 figure bonuses. shit, i just saw my buddies new DB-S last night (unreal, BTW!)...theres a big market right now for these overpriced toys esp. when big time bonuses are fronting the bill.

Why the hate on the Big Lex (LS)? I love the exterior design. The LS Sport is frankly something Acura should have done with the RL. Oh, they DID (sans engine upgrade)! Remember the A-Spec package? No? That's because Acura didn't market it. Grrrrrrr.......don't get me started....
As far as the LF-A, good on Lexus! They have the balls to release this in a down market for cars. In the meantime, where's the NSX?
I hope Acura steps up to the challenge from its hometown competitor!

So, a C-Net story mentioned that the LF was the successor to the Supra... at that price range.
No way I'd get the LF if I can get a Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lambo or R8 for less money!

^ The first LS I drove was a 98 when I was 19 and I fell in love. I've driven every generation and I love the cars...ended up with a GS400 but for my next car the 04-06 LS430 is definitely on the list of potentials.

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
You know, I kind of look at the LS Sport as an alternative to the AMG S class and the Audi S8. Those sell well in limited numbers. I've always had a thing for a car that can haul people and ass with aplomb.

All this sport model is doing is helping the LS appear to a younger crowd, who won't even care for it because they can get a 750 or S550 for less with more of everything!

The LS sport is a joke, it has the same HP as the outgoing BMW 750, and it can't compete with the new 750, twin turbo V8!!! To put it to the S8 or the AMG or even B7 is like comparing a 350z to an audi R8 from the factory. If anything I doubt that floaty barge could keep up with an Older 745.

If I had $300K to spend, I'd rather get an Italian exotic, Bently, Rolls, etc.
The LFA is a nice car but it looks very similar to the Nissan GT-R which costs around $80K. I don't think the LFA has much more on the GT-R in terms of performance and technology.
