I had originally planned on having nothing in the rear, but some miscommunication w/ the body shop left the holes there

I've been good man. Got engaged this past V-day. Moving to NC in July to finish school. I put pretty much an entirely new suspension in the GTO. I have a twin turbo system on the way that I'll hopefully get installed and tuned this spring.

Oh and I'll be selling my SSRs from the TSX soon so if you know anybody in the area who's interested, send them my way. I'd rather not ship them.

 

I can't wait to see pics and dynos of your GTO... that is sick...

BTw, it's real fun watching people trip the fuck out trying to figure out what kind of car it is. I went to two "gatherings" this weekend and everyone was puzzled.


I had a guy bust a Uturn in an old 5 series BMW today and follow me 3 blocks to an appt I had. He had spent a year down in AU and new exactly what it was. The dude was freaking out, calling a friend of his and everything

 

Looks awesome. They should have brought it over with the Holden front end to begin with.

Just need to take care of the mismatching badges.

 

I'm mixed on this. I think the Holden fogs are simply awesome looking, but I kinda like everything other than those on the pontiac front better. Overall though, its a good upgrade, and a unique look here in the states so

Hey CLpower...I searched on the GTO forum and couldn't find the answer to this question. What brand/size tires did you end up putting on your stock 18's. I have an '06 Cyclone Gray with 18's and really want to replace the Potenza's soon. I really want to go 245/40 all around and have been trying to get as much info as possible.

Oh yeah, your car looks great man. Spice Red was definitely my second favorite color...but Cyclone Gray is faster! LOL

 

245/40's. I wanted to go 255's real bad, but didn't want to chance running into a problem. I'm still pretty pissed I didn't and just use a 5 mm spacer.

i was beginning to think earlier last month that the gto was starting to look dated...

That's surprising. A front and a badge doesnt change the whole car. The whole body still looks like a GTO. Not knocking on your car, but that BMW owner and the people you met up with must've been retarded.

 

the front changes it alot since it's not a standout car to begin with. On top of that, most people don't know what a GTO is. There aren't many on the road. I'm in the car capital of the world and I "maybe" see one a month.

 

I guess I'm the only one not feeling it. It looks more plain than it did with the stock Pontiac front. And those Monaro tail lights are way too boring looking. Please don't get those.

I do like those dual fog lights though.

I couldn't find those HID's yesterday but I'm gonna keep looking. The woman cleaned the garage so God only knows where they are.

The BMW guy had been in Oz for a while so he had surely recognized the body as a Monaro (which is much more common down under) and not a GTO, then wondered how the hell it ended up here and with a LHD conversion.

I'd spent some time in Oz when I was in the Navy and always loved the Monaro. When I saw a GTO for the first time, I had the same reaction. "What is a Monaro doing here and why is it a Pontiac?" I hadn't kept abreast of auto news enough to know they were being imported and rebadged.

Yup, SSR Competition 18x8" with hub rings for the Acura center bore, which I believe is 61mm. Potenza RE750 235/40 tires with two summers on them.

 

Interesting. I see maybe 1 a day or every other day on a 30 mile span from my house to my job.

I understand how some would be confused, but a car enthusiast would see your car on the road and be able to put 2 n 2 together and figure it out. I dont know, maybe it's just me. Either way, looks hot!!!

 

Must be a larger population out there then, becaause i'm on the road 100+ miles a day.


BTW, there are more Vipers on the road then GTO's. Just to give you an idea. Are you sure you aren't seeing the same GTO everyday?
