New Durango Ablaze

Talk about bad publicity.

I hope this isn't a repost. I searched.

I guess that's what happens when you've been missing in action for 2 years and touring europe instead of the good old USA! most german cars have fire extinguisher as an option. I guess the durango didn't get the memo!

VERY surprised the police wandering around the fire didn't clear the crowd from the area within xx feet of the truck. I know they were on the sidewalk, but still - there were children in the crowd....even if they didn't care about the adults.

Very sad to see.

Love the new Durango. Had the chance to run one through an autoX course a few weeks ago...You didnt even feel the size in the tight technical turns.

They should have given it a new name, because the OG Durangos are shite.

I'm curious what caused the blaze. The Citadel model runs the standard 5.7 engine, which doesnt have any issues known such as that. I wonder if there was some faulty wiring.

I hope it's something like a rag forgotten by a technician or something. I think Chrysler's only starting to gain momentum, a recall for engine bay fires is the last thing they need on a new model.

So that wasn't the site of the after-parade bar-b-que?

And where were the clowns with their little fire trucks that are in every other parade, doing chinese fire-drills?

Burn on the new Durango.

That really is unfortunate though. Wonder what caused it.

At 8 seconds the dude shutting the passenger door has a fire extinguisher in his hand, why not try to put it out?

Sad to see, hopefully one day GM will get their rep back, along with ford and chrysler.

Are you referring to something else? Durango is not GM....it's Dodge/Chrysler.

Wrong company But on a side note, I think all three have a pretty decent rep with their new models.

Ouch, that's not good.... you can only imagine what the people in that huge crowd were thinking/saying.

Anyway, aren't you not supposed to pop the hood if you see smoke/fire?

More faulty installation at the factory, I see. Could happen to any make.

maybe most of those 2 years in Europe were spent in Amsterdam

Maybe it picked up something in Paris when all those other cars were "catching" on fire too
