New Car!

Just picked it up from the dealership today around 7pm. Its Formula Red with 38K miles, and I got it for $18,000. I traded in my '01 Acura CL Type-S for it, and its a pretty big difference. I only got $7,500 for it, the mods definitly brought the trade-in value down, oooh well though. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2096023

Anyway, here are some pics of my neeew toy!

Very nice! Do you know anything about the previous owner? I love the S2K's but would always worry about buying a used one b.c of the how the previous owner drove it. Nevertheless, that price seems great.....hmmmmm....if only my wife could drive a stick...I'd love a S2K in the driveway as the summer fun car.

Congrats and Merry Christmas!!!!

Very nice!! Congrats!! Yesterday, my son and I were at a Honda dealership (test driving an 06 AV6S 6MT forme and 07 Si sedan 6MT for him) and came a cross an 06 AP2 on the lot. Even after 6 years+ of production, the S2K is still hot.

congrats there Skillmatic. I've got an 06 AP2 and can't get enough of it. Take care of it, and you'll never stop wanting to drive that thing.

If this is you first RWD vehicle be careful - a few sessions at a local Autox would be money well spent. Take it especially easy in the rain/snow/poor weather conditions since you probably have Bridgestone S02's allround - if your going to drive the vehicle in snow with the summer tires on, DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT

Be safe and enjoy the car. Post more pics when you get it all cleaned up. NFR > *

werd. and this is a good car to switch to from a CLS. for a few grand more, you could have scored on a used C5 Z06. it's something i would consider looking into if i were getting rid of my car.

congrats on the new buy!

Nice... But is there anyway to change the instrument cluster, I have always felt the S2K to have one of the ugliest instrument clusters out there.

Damn you. I test drove one yesterday -- dealer just tossed me the keys and let me have at it -- and I loved it. I'd get one in hot pink or puke green if I had to.

Hmm... prices on C5 Zo6's must be alot lower out west then over here... I don't usually see the C5 Zo6's in the low 20's. Lowest C5 Z06 on autotrader near me is $28K. I guess you could probably find a 01 w/ high mileage in the low 20's tho', but with the "loose rings" issue in the 01's it's probably better to stay away....

I drove my friend's AP1 a few years ago and that was a complete blast!! He was able to post a 13.9sec ET with just an AEM V2.

Caveat: I did feel that his previous car (RSX-S) had better power delivery (read: iVTEC) despite lacking the F20C's peak HP. I hope the next gen S2k has a 250hp+ K20A.

isn't that radio hard to access since the shifter is in the way? and wouldn't it be a pain for the passenger to change the AC/heat if it's not located anywhere near anyone but the driver?

There's audio controls on the left. Not that you'd really need the radio over the screaming of the engine and your passenger.

It's a driver's car, and it shows. The transmission hump even intrudes into the passenger footwell.

Was the RSX stock? I don't remember the s2k being sluggish except at very low rpms, whereas I had to flog the RSX like a @#$% to get anything out of it.
