New Car - 04/05 TL, 05 G35, or 04 IS 300

Anybody have suggestions on what I should get? I've narrowed it down to these 2. It'll either be an 05 G35, a 04/05 TL, or an 04 IS 300. The IS entered the mix 'cause my friend wants to sell me hers and is offering a pretty good deal.

Could have just said that in your other thread.

Anyways, go drive all 3 and see which one YOU like the best. Everyone here wants somthing different so we wont have the same taste as you.

If it was ME, i would go with the car that I can get the best deal on.
How many miles are on each? Price?

I like the TL the best out of those 3.

I know man, I forgot about it. Could you possibly delete the other thread or have a mod do it? I don't post here much so I have no idea who can do that.

Road & track just did a comparo on the new TLS, the new G35 & the new IS350. They had...
1-IS350
2-TLS
3-G35
Amazing all that keeps the TL from wining these is the fact they are FWD. You'd think Acura would notice this?

List the prices...I say G35 for the most fun to drive, TL for the most bells/whistles, and cross the IS300 off the list; it's not in the same class.

I said that on another thread. I'm shopping now, and the CHIEF reason I'm going G35 is because I want to go back to RWD.

The '04 IS300 is the old bodystyle and about 8hp

The TL is a really nice car but it's the Nav integration and other techno goodies that stand out for me.

The G35 is a very interesting car. Very nice and comfortable with some guts. I'd get the 6MT

i'd say go with the TL, i say this because i have heard that the IS has a small backseat and the G35 has the cheap plastic interiors. The TL only has the rattles which can be very easily fixed by you.

What kind of rattles? I think I'm leaning towards the TL.

In order:
1) TL- Best all-around car, and possibly fastest of three in 6MT form. Some people have rattles, but I don't think most do. See the 3G section of this forum under Problems and Fixes.
2) G35 (sedan)- Louder/"sportier" exhaust note, RWD, interior is Altima-like: not in same class as the TL's, and steering wheel switches for cruise and audio really turned me off; hard clutch on 6MT. I didn't look at or drive the G35 coupe.
3) IS - Sloooow in a straight line and small compared to the TL and G35. Basically parcel shelf rather than a back seat in rear. Interior style is a matter of taste-- "chronometer style" is too busy for me.

I am sorry, how is the G35 "not in same class as the TL's" ? Unless you are talking about how th g35 is RWD and the TL is FWD. They are DIRECT competitors! They are both entry level luxurious sedan. That is why magazines always compare the two!

If you can get the IS300 for a good price , you can always get it and mod the hell out of it, there are more 400+hp IS300's than you realize.

Doesnt the IS300 have a non turbo version of the supra engine? Slap a turbo on and you will fly!

I think it just depends on what you're looking to do with the car. If it's going to be a daily driver, then I'd go TL or G35. Probably TL because I like its styling more than the '05 G35 sedan. But if you're looking at the coupe, then I'd go G35. On the other hand, if the IS300 is pretty cheap and you're looking for a project car, I'd go IS300. There are plenty of turbo kits that will eaily get that IS300 to 350+ RWHP.

IS300 has one of the highest insurance premiums if that matters to you

What is your budget? I would vote for the TL because I like the interior much better then the other two cars you mentioned, and it's the current bodystyle.

i'd want to see the prices too.

but if it was me, i'd lean towards the TL as the first option. then g35 and then is300.

My friend would sell me the IS. 20 g range...haven't negotiated to much. It's an 04, about 35 thousand miles. Navigation. How much would it cost to throw turbo on it?

I'm looking to keep it under 27,000. I don't want to spend to much on it.

In the post, I was trying to refer specifically to the interior of the G35 as being Altima-like and not in the same class as the TL's interior. I agree that the G35 and TL are in the same lux/sports sedan category.

In that case, excuse what i said before!

I own a g35 coupe, and when i look at the RDX interior...i was put in shame , but then i knew Acura interior is always top notch, it is just that a lot of there cars are FWD, which is a major nono for me. If the next gen TL has SH-AWD or RWD, it ll be my next car.

Cheers

For the IS300:

The TurboEast (350HP) kit is about $5k + $1k for install.

SRT Stage 2.5 (450HP) is currently on sale for $5750 + a bit over $1k for install.

If you're looking to keep it under $27k, a used TL or G35 would probably be better.

Auto makers and Car buyers are both tough to figure out sometimes...

I wouldn't consider the IS300 since it's an older design... G35 is a no brainer if you must have RWD, and the TL is the one to get if you don't mind fwd and want a better looking interior and better gas mileage.

Drive all three and pick the one you like best.

The Rulers Back!!

Thanks for the help guys, but I'm a stick with my ride for a while, at least until the end of this year. I like my car to much to give it up right now.
