Nissan dealers vs Infiniti dealers = night vs day

Based on my experience with Nissan (Maxima) and my friend with Infiniti (G35C), no argument here.

Every objective measure of customer satisfaction with dealer service says the Japanese brands OWN the Germans. Sorry but Lexus/Infiniti/Acura > Audi, BMW, Mercedes in dealer service.

I agree that Lexus and Infiniti service is very good...but being better than Audi/MB/BMW??? And Acura has better service than those 3. I want some of what you're smoking.

I've been smoking JD powers and consumer reports Look it up because it is there. BTW, Saturn ranks higher than Audi/BMW/Mercedes in Customer Service.

I really wish people would do some research before asking silly questions.

Saw the thing on the highway this weekend... not that impressed, at least by it's looks. Rear taillights look odd on the thing.

Junkster, who was passing it up

A lot depends on the dealer. I had to go to 3 different Acura dealers before I found a service department that didn't treat me like shit because I was 19. Same with Honda. However, when I bought the MB last spring, I serviced it at the same dealer I bought it from because they kept going above expectations and treated me like a valued customer, not a young guy that they just wanted money from.

You can base your opinion off JD if you like, but I have based mine off of experiences with going through the dealer. And many people on the board have voiced their displeasure with Acura/Nissan/Honda services before, so it's not like I am an isolated incident.

Sorry for the

I agree with you about the dealership in your area influencing your perceptions. Mine are completely opposite of yours. The Merc dealer here is a complete pr!ck and so is the BMW service people. My Infiniti dealership gave me a loaner for an oil change! Very different perceptions based on the dealer in your area. When I say that the Japanese dealerships are better than the German dealerships, this on average for a national scale.

Infiniti M35 rated 'Best luxury sedan'
Consumer Reports magazine calls the sporty car from Nissan a "surprise."

August 9, 2005; Posted: 12:26 p.m. EDT (1626 GMT)
DETROIT (Reuters) - The sporty Infiniti M35 powered past its competitors to become what Consumer Reports, a leading source of information for U.S. car buyers, says is the best luxury sedan on the road today.

The "excellent" overall rating for the car from the luxury division of Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. is reported in the September issue of the magazine, which goes on sale Tuesday.

The Infiniti M35 was tested against four other models and each, as equipped, was priced at roughly $50,000. The other models were the redesigned Audi A6, the Cadillac STS, Acura RL and Lexus GS300.

"The surprise of this test group is the M35, which is now our top-rated (luxury) sedan. It even outscores all of our tested full-size premium luxury sedans," Consumer Reports says.

"This well-rounded car has a ride and handling suited for twisty roads as well as the boulevard," it adds, saying the car's many attributes include a powerful 280-horsepower V-6 engine, a roomy, well-finished interior and controls that are mostly user-friendly.

A 335-horsepower, V-8 power plant is an available option on the M35.

The A6 from Audi, a unit of Volkswagen AG, also got an "excellent" overall score from Consumer Reports. But it was faulted for "nonintuitive controls," its lack of an in-dash CD slot and unknown reliability. The previous A6 was not reliable, according to Consumer Reports.

Of the five vehicles tested, Consumer Reports said all but the Cadillac STS, from General Motors Corp., and the Audi A6 warranted inclusion on its closely watched "recommended" list.

Consumer Reports said the reliability of the STS, which replaces Cadillac's Seville sedan, was still unknown. It praised many aspects of the car, but said the material quality of its interior was "not as luxurious as the leaders in the class."

The Infiniti M35 replaces the Lexus LS430 -- which sells for about $70,000 -- as Consumer Reports' top-rated luxury sedan.

The magazine said the GS300, from Toyota Motor Corp.'s luxury division, was refined and expected to be quite reliable. But it added that the car's steering lacks feel, passenger room is tight, and it is not an agile vehicle.

"It's not the luxury sport sedan Lexus pitches; we didn't find it particularly exciting to drive," Consumer Reports said.

Of the Acura RL, the latest offering from the luxury arm of Honda Motor Co. Ltd., the magazine complained that it was not particularly sporty to drive. It also said the RL was no roomier than the Acura TL, which costs about $16,000 less.

wow.... congrats to the M35. I have seen a few on the road and generally like em.... there is one problem though. It sits like a 4x4. So high!!! I'm talking about the height of the car, not wheel gap. I dunno how the height compares to the other cars, but however they have that car setup, the geometry or whatnot, sumbitch sits HIGH.

Exactly this car has already been out. I saw one on this road this morning (not an 06 though). I sat in an M35 at the NY autoshow. Didn't like the angled interior at all after sitting in it.

i have been noticing this weith several new sedans i really like

it must be the fact that sitting on stock 19's and 20's with normal stock setup wheel gap just puts you higher off of the ground than previous gen cars

the overall wheel profile seems to be getting bigger and wider, but i love it

infiniti has completely gained all of my business.... from the quality of product to the dealership experience with my fx compared to the cl, i will never drive acura again (unless they release an acura s2k)

next step is to sell the s2k and try to pick up a 6 speed g35 sedan, since i can't afford the m35/45 yet

The Infiniti M35/45 is one hot car. It's winning just about every comparison test in the media. I test drove an M45 sport when if first came out and wow! The power, features and overall refinement was fabulous. There was no way I could afford the $50,000+ price though
