Good luck waiting on a wagon. The prices on them are slowly falling, and if you want a 6MT, those fetch a price premium. Best time to buy is winter since prices are lower.

Wow...I'm impressed with no slipping in the snow. Wife just got an SRX but it's an AWD 2012 that doesn't have the CUE, I guess I'm happy to relay that she may have dodged a bullet with it.
Either way...I come back here when I lose the desire to rub one out to girls...your car gives me that little push I sometimes need...

I haven't had the issue. On my V seadan, I switched out to a solid isolator so I wouldn't have the problem. The issue was fixed for the 2013 model year so I don't have to worry about it.

Damn that thing is sick. Not a fan of wagons at all but a wagon with that motor and styling gets my approval. Congrats!
That color is phenomenal btw, great choice!

When I go to schools in the city to talk to the kids, I drive this car in and I'm inevitably asked, "how did you get that car? How do I get one?" That's the answer...

Congrats, that thing is rediculous. The mrs. has bad memories of having to drive a wagon in high school and won't own one. There are so many cool wagons out there and thos is one of them.

Front is great. Rear is just OK. V-sport is badged "V" and will cause confusion, but the 420 hp 3.6TT V6 makes that car a compelling sub-V model for those who don't want to spend top dollar on a CTS-V. We'll see how they style the next CTS-V.
On the whole, I like my 2GV series better, but the new one is OK too. I like both the "get the F out of my way" look on the current gen CTS/CTS-V and the classy, Mercedes-aping style of the new one.

The V-series is typically released a model year after the release of the regular CTS. That's how it's worked the last two generations. GM is doing two things to keep V sales going in the meantime:
1) The Vsport (described in my above post) is not a true V-series, but meant to build on the V name much as M-sport is to M and F-sport is to IS-F. So it keeps the "V" name out there and it's less expensive than the future 3G CTS-V.
2) There will be limited production of the current generation CTS-V for the 2014 model year, a good move given its popularity. This has been confirmed by multiple sources within Cadillac, though not officially announced.

Reported V wagon sales: 1200
"Juan Barnett of DC Auto Geek tweeted some interesting information last weekend regarding the last generation of CTS-V; just 1,200 examples of the CTS-V wagon were sold during the car’s lifecycle; by comparison, Cadillac sold a total of 254,000 examples of the CTS."

I guess I need to fix up my minor scratches and put the wagon away as an "investment".
Naaaaaaaaaah. It's just way too much fun to drive.

A few new videos
Some of my more recent videos:
1. Driving in the snow after a snowstorm, February 2013. Winter tires make it easy as driving on dry road.
2. Route 50 between Howard and Cotapaxi, CO, June 2013, on my epic road trip in the V wagon. No super-speed slides because my wife and son are in the car with me. The Arkansas River is to the left.
3. Another outside video of my V wagon with Stainless Works exhaust, this time with a couple of shifts at redline, from yesterday. Exhaust now has 12k miles/7 months service.
4. Another interior video of the V wagon getting onto the freeway. No really crazy stuff as my son is in the back seat.
Enjoy!

They say the automatic was faster at the racetrack... but its all about the feel. I drove automatic and 6mt at monticelo ny and 6mt is way more difficult to handle and heel toe than AT maybe because gas and brake pedal are so far apart... anyway i love your vagon bob. Sell me your rims

An update: instead of shopping for Black Friday yesterday, I paid off the V wagon early. Beastwagon is mine free and clear! A good trade deal on the V sedan and paying $160 under invoice for the V wagon ensured a small enough loan to pay off quickly. I paid exactly $513 of interest over the life of the loan. Not bad!
Now I can use the money I was using to pay it off early for a) maxing out the little one's 529 for the year and b) mods....though I am not yet tired of the explosive power delivery of the LSA with a 6MT, so b isn't happening for a while yet.

One more thing:
A few weeks ago, official production numbers for the entire V series (V1, V2, STS-V, XLR-V) up to 2013 were published recently. Unfortunately, they are not broken down by color or transmission yet. Hopefully someone in the know at GM will help with that soon!
For those who don't feel like clicking the link, here are the production numbers for the current gen (second) CTS-V:
1386 total V wagons 2011-13, or 7% of total production.
7030 V Coupes 2010-2013, or 38% of total production
10010 V Sedans 2009-2013, or 54% of total production
http://cadillacvnet.com/knowledgebas...p#.Upnkw5GIfEN
In short, my wagon is one of 416 produced for the 2013 MY. Given an estimated 6MT take rate of around 10% for the entire current gen V series, that means I have perhaps 1 of less than 50 6MT wagons produced that year. Should I just stop driving it now?

Congrats on no more payments!
Though you have a rather rare car, it would be very hard for me to justify putting it away in the garage just to make some money later in life, especially since it's not guaranteed. I say enjoy it

Fear not, I plan to drive it long and hard. I have 16.3k miles on it already in less than a year , so if I was planning an "investment", it's already too late. . I've already got an extended warranty on the car up to 100k miles. I just can't keep my hands off the car, it's like a girlfriend I just can't stop touching.
I barely touched my S2000 this past summer, a situation I plan to rectify once I pull it out of storage in the spring. That's how much I like the V wagon.
