Neon SRT4 test drive gone bad....

From another board:
"thursday around 2pm, I was test driving my soon to be new 04 srt-4 from a local dealership.I switched places with the salesmen to return to the lot. The salesmen was behind the wheel driving down Earliesville Rd. He was going way too fast and lost control, going through a fence then rolling the car 4 times. The result..A few stiches in his face and some cut and brusies. Me on the other hand wasnt so lucky. The fence rail went though the front windshield, hit me in the face, pealing my face from the nose to my ear away from my scull. I lost so much blood in the car before I was pulled out, I almost died on the scene. After 3 days in the hospital, 2 plastic surguries, and masive nerve grafting I am home tonight. I look like the freekin eliphant man.My family and I ask to pray for us, as My recovery is FAR from over. Here are the pics.. some are graffic. "

That really is sad. His facial injuries aren't that bad. A few good plastic surgeries over some time will fix him good.
I wonder if his eyesight got messed up.
I'd settle out of court for $1M and a Viper in every color it comes in.

looks like it could have been worse, im glad to see that he made it out with his life. but yeah, i was thinking the same thing as einsatz. of course, this is post surgery but his face doesnt look as bad as it sounded, like i said, it could have been much worse.

Repost. This happened like 6 months ago when the SRT first came out.

His facial injuries aren't that bad.
From what was stated, he likely had a complete facial nerve transection and received a facial nerve graft. That being said, his face will never recover full symmetrical voluntary movement -- at best he'll look normal when not smiling (for instance) but will have some noticeable asymmetry when he smiles, frowns etc.
The scars go against the normal facial lines -- they'll be noticeable too.
This accident is incredible -- it's one thing if a kid goes on a crazy test drive, but it's another if the SALESMAN rolls the car.
I wonder how much of the settlement will come out of the dealership's insurance and how much will come directly from the salesman's pocket. A Dodge saleman is probably not the richest guy in the world to begin with -- unless he's covered with a large insurance policy or has the best attorney in town, his wallet will be hurting for a long time.

An aside: it does amaze me how everyone focuses on the actual dollars of the money settlement -- I guess it's the American way -- but this kid is disfigured for life. No amount of money will fix that.

Well....the irony here is that he went in looking to drop $20G on an SRT but he may well end up with a free Viper (not to mention a Dodge Durango beater to boot).
Seriously though, I'm glad he survived.
Peace.

Hey ...
Thing is ... settlements in Canada aren't as generous as it is in the litigation-happy US. I can't speak for Quebec (since some of their laws vary from the rest of Canada ... "notwithstanding") but I'm certain any settlement won't be compensation for the pain/suffering this guy has / will go through.
Goes to show you what road racing can result in (worst case scenario)
PS Sounds like Slimey has some medical training ...

well it goes to show you that dodge put all their eggs into performance and none into safety in this car. Not surprising. Don't forget folks, this is what you expect from a more performance built car. You don't mind having a porker of a car knowing you will fare better in a bad accident. You can't have it all.
Thats just messed up eh... salesman walks away with a few scratches and bruises, while the person buying the car just messed up... Sue all the way, but I agree with fellow poster, money isn't everything.... yes it will help him with the pain and suffering he has endured, but given the choice i would say he would have not got hurt.... just my

The first thing I noticed is how little the b pillar was crushed given that the car rolled 4 times! That stain is where his head hit I assume which seems to indicate he may not have been belted in. I'd say the car did amazingly well given the circs.
