Need a used SUV, city use. 15k budget
my bros looking to get a used car to commute from Manhattan to Queens daily. (street parking in manhattan) Needs an AWD or SUV with low miles. 15k budget.
he was thinking about picking up a used Saturn Vue bc of those stupid dent resistant panels for NYC wear and tear. i was thinking about maybe a used Toyota or Honda small SUV that will truly last for a long time.
any opinions? good used car sites to go to?

15K is a good amount to be spending on a pre-owned SUV. I have a 97 Izusu Rodeo 4X4 V6 5 spd for my winter ride and it treats me great. It has 90K on it and still runs like a charm! It get about 17 mpg which is.......ok for an SUV. I scored it for $2800 at an auction, put some yokohama geolander A/T tires on it, 02 plastic spare tire cover, aftermarket euroclear tailights and snowboard racks and the think kicks ass!

Used WRX for AWD
other then that for 15k youve got a good number of choices for SUVs.

the new car choice would be either a Honda CR-V or Nissan Xterra (probably the Xterra), but if I had 15k to spend on used, I'd go with either a used Pathfinder or QX4. My uncle has a QX4, and it runs smoothly, efficiently, and without any worries. He's predicting a good 7-8 years out of it, and that's coming from someone who hasn't kept/ thought of keeping a car for more than 3-4 years.

Keep in mind anything that's going to be driven from Manhattan to Queens daily is bound to get a small fender bender, door ding, dent etc. I wouldn't spend too much $$ for it. The smaller the better for parking. You don't need a big engine either if that's the only purpose.

i would go with either santa fe or kia sorento because of their warranty. i prefer sorento because it looks very good IMO. anything but sissy rav 4 or saturn vue.

well, if he doesn't care about the MPG, how about a Discovery? i know its huge and it only goes about 12mpg, but i almost bought it because they are cool as hell.
