My old one (12V DC w/ screw on cap) just died and now I have to get a new one. I would prefer (unless someone can recommend otherwise) for an inflator that does both DC & AC, and has a screw on thread to screw on to the cap on the tire.

I've been very happy with a Xantrex Technologies xpower that I've had for about 4 years now. You can search amazon for them. I also own two of their portable back up battery packs, that I use when the power goes out.
