Need for my AZ family opinion on problem with my Integra
I've posted this over at Team-Integra also, but I still would like my real families opinion on what may be going on here.
Copy and pasted from my thread at TI.
Background:
My Engine: B18c3 94-96 JDM GSR motor (10:6:1 CR) uses the same top end as the C1. OBD 1
I know the previous owner who had the motor installed, and is pretty knowledgable when it comes to the Bseries engines.
Problem:
Car is consuming more oil than it should be, roughly 1 qt. every 500-800 miles.
AND I have blue smoke from the exhaust, but ONLY after the Secondaries of the IM open.
The series of events:
6 trips to the Acura Dealership
Parts replaced and or tested:
1-- New Breather chamber, and PCV valve; Still smokes
2-- Compression Test, Leakdown, and "pressurized the cylinders...Mechanic told me all were fine, and the Compression test was 160 on all 4.
3-- Change to the OBD 2 ECU too see if timing was advanced on the OBD1 aka "played with"; still smokes
4-- Took AEM intake and replaced with stock box; still smokes
The strangest thing of ALL this is the fact that it only smokes AFTER the Secondaries of the IM open.
Talking to the mechanic some more, he's stumped too. Says it seems almost like the oil is pooling somewhere and then being burnt off in the second stage of the Intake system.
Acura figured out the engine was not the OEM for my 01 GSR, so no more warranty work can be done.
I asked the mechanic again, off the record, what the hell I should even look at having replaced to which he said " I honestly don't know, you have a bizzarre problem"
What the hell can be causing this ???
My friend who used to own the car, thinks it might be the piston rings going...but thats a lot of work if it's not.
One thing I did find to cause it not to burn off oil so quickly was switching to a 10w40 Motor Oil.
I need some guidance here folks. I'm so sick of this shit.
Thanks in advance

Dry test is simply what everyone does. Wet is done the same way, but you add some oil (couple of tablespoons full) into the cly (thru the spark plug hole). The oil you add, will help seal the rings. So if the wet test shows a big inprovement over the dry test, you can pretty much assume bad rings (blow by).
Only problem with doing the wet compression test, is that the exhaust will smoke for a while till the extra oil you added is burned off... I had a HUGE blue plume of smoke that followed me for miles
