I want to love the 328xi very badly, i'm just not sure whether or not it has enough oomph from the 230 horses with the AWD. I don't wanna regret not going with the 286 ponies in the TL-S but the beamer is so solid. There isn't one 328xi coupe on Long Island to test drive.

Like posted, the 328 isnt that slow compared to the TL type S.

Either way you deserve to at least drive a manual 328 and see how it is. Even if its rwd, it will give you an idea how fast the car is.

HP ratings are nothing to BMW so dont bother to look at them. They are always UNDERRATED

listen to that last part. the hp numbers you see in magazines or on their website dont tell you anything. when you're dealing with bmw, hp ratings shouldn't even be a concern because there's no way to compare them to other cars unless you drive them. anyways, you asked about a 328 MT...i've driven a 2005 330ci MT plenty of times (225 hp...not that it matters) and it was one hell of a car, not only in handling, but in performance. the manual transmissions in bmws are extremely easy to shift and there's just something about them that makes the ride fun every single time which is something that i have yet to experience with other MT cars.

Point definitely taken. I'm not typically a race driver, I like to drive with a thrill but i'm not the type of guy to look over and want to beat some other guy. I mean I take pride in knowing whether or not my car is faster than someone else's. But, then I thought to myself "how many street races have i been in since i've had my car" ZERO. I think I rather have a nice car like the beamer coupe than a cardboard rocket like an evo.
