Need advice on wheel sizes
As some of you already know, i've ordered a montego blue 335i thats due to arrive sometime between feb. 24 and march 9. Needless to say, i'm pretty excited. Well, for as long as I can remember, I've wanted to fit a car with Volk TE-37s. So, I figured, whats a better way to bring in the new car than with a pair of my dream wheel. So... questions.
I dont want my wheels to be an "issue." I dont want to nail a pothole and say, S**T! I wish i'd gotten 18's instead of 19's or 20's. So i'm already sure i'm going 18's. I can get them in 18x8.5 or 18x9.5. The OEM sport wheels are 18x8.0 in the front, and 18x8.5 in the rear. So, my question is this: If the 9.5 requires rolling fenders, using spacers, and brings added hydroplaning (wider tires mean more contact --> more hydroplaning, correct?) then why would I want to get 9.5's? The whole fun of getting volk's is that they're a super lightweight wheel. So is it okay to run 18x8.5's all the way around. I'm aware that having bigger tires in the front than in the back leads to understeer, which I suppose would be an advantage because it would prevent oversteer (which for a noob on his first rwd after driving fwd and awd for years, sounds pretty nice) Would going 8.5 all around make me more prone to oversteer and snap oversteer?
Cliffnotes: Just questions in bold!
Thanks in advance, fellas. I'm going back to play tower defense while I wait for some thoughtful responses.

Whether you rub or not will depend on the offets; however it is unlikely even with aggressive offets that 18x9.5 will rub. The rear well of the 335i is pretty big, for example I am going 19x10.5 in the rear with H&R sports, and will probably not rub.
So I would find out what the offets are, and if they will fit then go 8.5 front and 9.5 rear.

I'm waiting for the guy at Vivid to get back to me. It says I have a PM, but e90post decided that they were going to wait until tonight to upgrade their servers? gooo figure.
Edit: If he didnt mention it, i'm pretty sure someone else on the forums JUST got a set of TE-37s. i'll see what offset he's running and i'll get back to you. Are you over on those forums too?

18 TE will look ridiculously small on 335.
But if you like it.... 18x8.5 30ish offset F with 18x9.5 low 30s offset. with 235 45 18/265 40 18
40 is a little too high....... wont flush
