Nascar
I've tried to like NASCAR. I really have. I love the history of it and the cars used in the fifties and sixties. The legendary teams and the fabulous battles. Then sometime after that, it all went wrong....................
I try to watch, but then start hearing comments like, "His car just all ate up with motor!", or "He just done took Junebug intuh the wall!". Then a hotdog wrapper falls on the track and a caution is thrown. After I've filed a tax return and mowed the lawn, I tune back in only to hear that the the caution flag is still out and that "There's gonna be a sprint to thu finish!" "Gonna be checkers or wreckers!!!". Then the restart gets waived off because another hotdog wrapper falls on the track. Click.
Really, I have tried. I just can't.

Meh, watching cars drive in circles for 3+ hours is not appealing to me. I've tried watching it but I get bored and change the channel. If there's any good wrecks I'll see them on the sports highlights during the news.
Australian Supercar Racing is what NASCAR should be
I've seen parts of a few NASCAR road races. The skill was never a question, it was the entertainment value. Road racing is much more entertaining, it's a shame they don't do it more often.

I've been watching NASCAR since i was born. The earliest race i remember was the infamaous 1st daytona televised live on tv with the fight at the end with allison and yarborough. I really enjoyed the 80's and early 90's nascar. The cars still looked like cars compared to what they look like now. There were old men who dominated and youngsters who tried their best to unseat the best and older drivers.
They weren't as concerned with the money and sponsors like the business is today. It really started to become very corporate in the 80's and had its grip by the mid 90's.
I do watch a couple races or at least the beginning and the end. Sometimes that is all i can tolerate w/o falling asleep, esp at tracks were there aren't many cautions.
I don't really like it as much b/c of corp. america and the high price tag of doing business.
I don't buy any nascar stuff either now. That was done in the 80's/90's when davey allison was alive.

I think it may be the only type of race that is almost unbareable to watch. The people, the drivers, the "scene."
I've been to a race, got to get on the track, into the pits, and everything. I follow it on sportscenter. But I am not a fan. Its absolutely boring.
I watch other types of racing, but that oval stuff isn't exciting to me. When Indy goes oval, I can only sit through a little of it as well.
F1, BTCC, DTM, World Challenge, ALMS, Indy road races....that's more my style.

I've been to the indy 500 and you can really fall asleep like i did depending where you sit. The cars are so fast that you almost don't know who is who.
I have been to Pocono to watch arca grand national and sprint cup. Sometimes a snoozefest esp when it's 90 degrees out. You get absolutely baked in the sun.
At watkins glen i saw grand national, maybe porsche cup imsa camel gtp and whatever other series runs up there.
Watkins glen isn't bad, that's more fun.
Lime rock park is cool too. I like the road courses the best so far.
I have a few trunks of older nascar stuff that is in a cubby hole. One day i'll break it out.

I think I would have fun watching a race at bristole with a field full of gutted tauruses, camrys, stratuses, and Malibu. The actual production cars mind you. All weather racing and some sort of crane with a electromagnet to clear crashes would probably help too.

Same here. Two of my friends sort of keep up with the WRC, but other than that, nobody I know watches any motorsport events on a regular basis.
Discovery HD Theater. Unfortunately, they don't show the races until two weeks after race day. But, at least you get to watch it.
