My familys very car oriented. Ive been on here since I was like 12. Before that I was on HPOA (Honda Prelude Owners Assoc.) forums for a while. But the main answer is FORUMS. Everything you need is online. If you have a question, just search and its already been covered. Just a great tool. Thanks for the compliments.

That's unreal that you're only 15 and can do all that work on your own. Keep it up, man!

Coming along nicely. I wouldn't even think about getting into that.

Two different wheels?

My dads income tax. My dads pay for all the stuff, and I am VERY grateful for everything he does for me. The back wheels are just there for the paint job work, I only have 2 of those so I put them on the back. The front are from the 01 TL cause I had the OEM TL wheels on my front, but my dad wanted to switch back out.

You are correct, the 1JZ came in 89-92 Supras in Japan. Also Chasers and Soarers if im corect. If my car wasnt a N/A 7M. Id stick with the 7MGTE, its not a bad motor, just a little un realiable. Also someone on Supraforums has over 310,00 miles on their 1JZ and it dynoed a little over 320 with just some bolt on's. This motor I believe is a champ.

So you would recomend the roll on paint application? I have heard a lot of people talk about it but no one actually do it. I just wanted to hear your side of it.

Very nice, my hearty congratulations to you for having the talent and patience for saving that MkIII from the scrap heap and doing such a nice job on it. 1JZ is an awesome motor, I'm glad to be seeing more of them in the U.S. recently ...at least I hadn't noticed them here a few years ago.

PS: I'm another Supra fan and own a MkIV

Wow, I love how that is a picture on a road course and not a drag strip. Id like to see that more often with Supras. Nice car man!

Ill tell you when Im finished, im not sure how its going to end up rite now, Im only applying the second coat to the car today. As for the bumper, I dont want to say anything til its done and buffed. Id only reccomend this on older and cheaper cars, granted if I paid around 6-8 thousand for a mint MKIII, I'd get it sprayed. Great thing to do for beater cars.

Its painting a car with a 4" foam roller for the local hardware store. Also known as the "$50 paint job". Google "$50 paint job" and you should come up with many results.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Pretty decent paint work....I hope you prepped the panel beforehand (i.e flex) so it doesn't chip the second there's any movement in the panel...

Sounds like a good kid. He appreciates his father, and puts in some man hours fixing his own car. I wish half the spoiled rejects around my way were like this kid.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

i've seen these kids down the road from me paint thier whole car like this, they had 3 rollers going on it. they paited it lime green with this gaudy ass body kit on it and it looked lik shit, i drove by 3 times asking myself WTF? and then laughing. the best part is 2 days later i see him stuck on the side of a road with a tow truck picking him up. these guys have alot of cars, but thier all older with bondo on them and body kits.

i'm not saying your paint will come out bad, just what i have seen.

but i give you props for doing your own work on your car. i've learned alot from my father and know how to build a stroked 350 small block, but i also have a large knowledge on the newer technology from him and we are a very car oriented family, i appreciate all of it. keep up the work you'll learn alot more over time.

As of right now, I dont. Im going to try to find a job over summer. Im trying to concentrate on my grades right now, I also dont want to ask people for rides to get to work.

Thanks for the comments everyone! The paint is pretty much done. Im "ok" with the results. There were alot of parts that I slacked off on and didnt sand as well as I could have. Its better then where it was at though.

Im ganna quit on the car till maybe summer. Trying to save up some cash, if we spend all of our money on the car now, its just going to sit there. lol
