My radar detector gone crazy

I have used Xtr 335 whistler for a year with no problem. Until this week Monday, I walked out from school and ready to get home. The radar turn on, after the operation it's keep flashing X and 9 for almost 15 minutes . It stopped some minutes then continue. Sometime it's tired of X then it flashs Ka.The number goes with the band always 9. I try to contact the Whistler group but have to wait till this Monday. Is it sound normal for a radar to be broken after 1 year using ?

I think the weather in Texas is not good for the radar. Anyone live in Houston Texas recommend any other ?

Yes it's ES 350 . It's my mother but I can access it anytime so ... I think I should find another radar detector .

Leo, should invest in either a Valentine1 or an escort 9500ix.
both are pretty pricey at around $400 but are top of the line.

I purchased a refurbished whistler xtr150 and so far no complaints. From what I read in the manual, there's a button combination to reset the detector. You press the city or quiet button while it's starting up or something along those lines.

It's kinda too much for me . I can afford around 200-300. I still think that my car still not enough power for those radar ( although I race sometime )

Throw away that trash and get an Escort 8500 or better and you didn't need to mention that you race...

Can't go wrong with a V1 but 9 times out of 10 if you get shot with a laser, you're screwed

Look at the Beltronics Vector series or the Passport X50. They still offer great performance and are in your price range. I have zero complaints with my Bel V940.

Since this topic has gone in the direction of which detector to buy... no need to have multiple convos going... especially when you can search and find tons of detector topics...
