my new project (pics inside)
I can't pass this deal up. if everything works out this will be my new project car by next week... what you guys think???
PS.. it's an 00 typeR with 50k miles on it, MODS ARE JDM 4-1 HEADERS,ICEMAN COLD AIR INTAKE, CARBON FIBER HOOD, APEX CAT BACK EXHAUST
REMEMBER, the car will undergo alot of changes (like intake, turn signal etc..)

My buddy Chris also has an '00 Pheonix Yellow Type-R.
He's got some mods on it already, but more importantly, his Jackson Racing supercharger is on its way in the mail. Lots of potential in the B18C5. Good luck with your project, and keep us updated!!
P.S. If you don't have one yet, I would recommend getting a high-tech security system for it perhaps even a tracking device, since the Type-R is one of the most-stolen vehicles in the U.S.

I think the pheonix yellow fits the Type R. keep the color (imo), add a JDM Type R conversion, get some JDM (Work, Mugen, Gab Sports, Spoon, etc.) rims and that shit will look sick. And the motor, dont even get me started, you can go crazy with the B18C5
Used to own a 4dr. Gs-R before the CL-S so I know a bit about Japanese Honda Motors. And the suspension, well, depends on what you want to use the car for, cause that has plenty of options as well. All in all its got so much potential and a fun ass car to drive, enjoy!!
You should get it man! I have an R and to tell you the truth, although it feels slower than a CL-S 6-speed, its definitely exponentially more fun!! The only car that has given me as much a thrill was a 350z and I've driven BPU+ Supras and STi's! The R has the tossability factor; very well balanced. As far as mods go, there are a ton!! I personally will go to the turbo route! There are many people with 300 whp R's that have a hard time finding traction! If you want to know more, just check out www.honda-tech.com. As far as the turbo kit goes, there's a company called full-race that make amazing kits made for the car! Good luck and if you have any questions PM me!

i raced one of those a few weeks ago with my 3,700 lbs A6 and i beat it....the guy followed me to a gas station....he had a Jackson turbo on it....how the hell did he lose? are those cars really not that fast or did he just suck at driving it? because my A6 is (drivetrain wise) completely stock and as far as i can tell, i shouldnt be able to walk away from a turbo'ed ITR

nice try, but there is no Jackson turbo, it'd be an S/Cand type R's aren't made for straight line speed, it's on the track they excel

because I'm sure a relatively stock CLS6 would beat you convincingly and I would think a SCed ITR would beat a CLS6 in a straight line.

stock vs. stock, they are VERY close indeed. it comes down to driver ability, weather conditions, etc. as far as launching, the A6 has the clear advantage with the AWD. but it is about 200 lbs heavier than the CL-S...sooooo, it can vary. im just saying in my personal experience, having owned both.

Oh and auto A6 will not have much of an advantage off a launch. Its not like you can launch it at a high RPM anyway.

I will agree with you that the particular day I went with the NE audi club it was hot and humid. I know that these force-fed engines react more to weather conditions but I'm just telling how it is/was. A stock 2.7t auto IS not faster than an auto stock CLS. I would garner that the CLS is indeed faster by a smigen, but more likely neck and neck.

you are absolutely right about the weather though, a day like today, its about 80 here and sickeningly humid, my twin turbos HATE this crap, its significantly and noticably slower than on a 45 degree dry day in fall

I don't like that yellow either, but to each their own.
