my new car
my new car
bought a brand new 06 330i past weekend totally unexpected. My wife and I were heading home and she brought up the baby subject (we are planning to have a baby early next year). We agree that CLS is two door won't be good as family car, Dodge Neon is made out of sode cans, and our M roadster is small. so we decided to stop by BMW dealer near our home to check out the new 3er. the next time I realized was writing a check for it. lol
The sticker price is $45k, but I got it for $39k +tax & fees. It is loaded with:
Premium pack
Sport pack
Navi. system with iDrive
6 spd manual (it is a must)
automatic rear sunshade
heated seats
Xenon adaptive headlights
comfort access
moonroof
We absolutely love it so far.

that was their last one and it is 6spd, so not that attractive in bay area at all. They gave me almost $7k off sticker since it is a 2006 model.

Actually 3 series is bigger than Civic, at least with the E90 model. I am only 5'6" and my wife is a bit shorter than me
:, so we have no problem with 3 series. Plus, my wife thinks my CLS is a boat and she hates driving it. Oh in fact, E90 is as wide as CLS (interior), but shorter than CLS.

That is my worry too.. she's been doing makeups and shifting for years already

Day four, IT IS AWESOME!!! There are secret functions and thoughtful features.
Once you know it, you will love it like no others. You can use voice recognition to jump directly to the menu you want. The car comes with two keys and each has its own profile. YOu can custom your profile completely, like daylight driving light, interior light and its brightness, seat position, mirror position, air cushion volume, surround sound settings, climate settings, display units, etc..

Everyone I know that owns a BMW with idrive has the same comments as you. They hate it for the first week then after that they cant live without it. All the mag reviews slag the hell out of it and keep saying BMW should get rid of it. If they would spend more than 10mins playing with it they would appreciate it more and this is why BMW wont get rid of it, because the owners love it so much.
Once again, nice choice and a good deal.
Love the ///M. I got to drive one at the South Carolina ///M school a couple months ago. Liked it waaaaaaay better than both the M5 and M6. The thing handles better than any car I've ever been in - period. It's on rails.

yeah.. took it to autoX and track a few times already and it is the best handling car I've ever driven too.
Not pink, it is my digital camera.
Oh guys, I just found out the clouds in "perspective" view of navi. system actually moves LOL Dang those Germans are so detail oriented. Here are more findings:
1. couple days ago, I left my key in my shirt and tossed in my trunk. I closed the trunk and turn around (ready to walk away), the trunk automatically opens. I closed it again and less than 2 seconds it pops open. Computer just refused to close my trunk if my key fob is inside. I guess this is a preventive feature to prevent idiots like me locking my key fob in the trunk.
2. I can program iDrive to turn on heat or AC at certain time. example. if I get off at 5pm and it is hot out side, I can program it to start AC at 4:45 and by the time I leave the interior is cool.
3. Car will not lock if key fob is inside the car.
4. If you lock someone inside your car with key fob from outside, that person is doomed inside. There is no way to open the door unless s/he break the windows. of course, you can open it for him/her. A great car for holding hostages. LOL
5. Adaptive headlights - they turn when steering wheel turns.
6. if you turn off the engine, and set signal light to either side, it will turn on the side blinker and signal lights on the respected side.. A good feature to prevent hitting by other cars when it is park on a busy street.
7. Car will lightly apply brakes to dry the pads and discs when it is wet, so it can bring out the full potential of the brake when it is needed.
Some features require Comfort Access.
