I bet...... the handling is good.
And I do have to admit that those generation BMW's have the best looking dashboard than any other cars and any other year makes in history. I don't like the look of the latest gen BMW interior, or even the Mercedes, but yours looking very good. Audi's dash ain't bad either.
anyways, sweet ride.

Man it's sad that it's so hard to find a 5er with a manual.
It looks quite nice. I've only thrown around a e38 and it was quite spry for it's weight, I bet that 5er is allot of fun even without a manual.

my cousin also just bought a 528 clean title lower 115k ish miles for 8 grand
528/525's can be had for real cheap
and to the guy who said isnt the car slow, i think the kid bought it for different reasons then just performance. Performance aside the car is a very nice car.

99 i couldnt find one less than 12-11k but i got an AMAZING deal on this one, almost 3k worth of maintenance done before i bought the car, it was sitting in the garage for 2 years, showed me invoices, last time it was serviced was 1/3/2005 and it got a whole new suspension (common replacement at this mileage) new cooling system, another replacement that is common, 4 new tires. and the only thing that was bad when i bought it was the auxilary fan, and abs module, getting them both fixed 500 combined. so i got a great deal according to me.
the 525 were made before 96 then after 2001+. so either thats REALLY cheap, or expensive, because 525 is 2001+ and 96-.
and yes, i didnt just buy it for the speed, i bought it because i drive ALOT and wanted something extremely comfy and roomy, but to my expectations, it does well even on performance. the handling gives it a whopping advantage.

black on black is rare with this car, not that rare, but it is extremely hard to find. And so i when i found it, i jumped on it. it took 3 weeks of debating, and 15 mins of negotiating.

Nice ride, I've always like E39s and I've always wanted a 540, especially a 6-speed, but I understand that driving in traffic with a manual isn't exactly fun.
Have you seen your rep points lately? Water-S is that you?

nice.
you need the newer E39 projector clear lense headlights and the LED taillight.
i think the older E39 headlights and taillights make the car looks very dated.

the BMW is ALOT easier to work on than the acura, of course its always complicated with special tools. but still nevertheless easier.
And with the 540, i really wanted it, i just didnt want to deal with the gas mileage, in my E39, i get 365 to a tank ALL HARDCORE city driving and that averages about 19 mpg on a 18.5 gallon tank.
So thats pretty good.

i am looking forward to the 535 coming out. especially w/ a manual tranny and sport package. seems like a solid luxury performance sedan. now- if they just get rid of that blasted i-drive.
btw- congrats on your new ride
