My car PULLED on a last gen M3 2X

Thats right You read it right. Well as you all know I'm not really in to racing anymore and I really havn't opend my S up since my court date (june). Well I finally got a job and my new co-worker happens to have the last gen m3 MANUAL coupe. We both came out of our work after we signed all the papers today for work, and check each others cars out. He has an intake, exhaust, short shifter, and something called a shark injector (what ever that is). Well we decided to do a quick run infront of our work. The road is approx. 3 mile road w/ no cars two lanes and couple of lights.
First we did it from a rolling start ~ 80. I tottally forgot about VSA until now, so i had it on, and my tires already have 21k on them. I move the shift to 1 and then on his mark we launched. My tires BARK real loud and I take off. he's right behind me but when i hit around 30~35 I was in the sweet spot and PULLED REAL hard. I wasn't use to racing so I redlined and fuel cut off came on. He gain slightly and I heard him shift. I moved the lever to the right and was on 2nd. AGAIN in the sweet vtec zone. I pulled hard AGAIN. While I was still in 2nd, I heard him shift again to 3rd. I was still in 2nd. I then shifted to 3rd and we cut the race cuase we were close to a red light.

"MAN, That think got some power"
me :
Light is still red, I move the lever to 1st again and wait calmly. *vsa still on* light turns green I mash the gas Tires BARK like real loud. One LONG ASS BARK. I take a jump, im almost at 45mph i shift to 2nd but before I shifted i heard him shift to 2nd before me. I then pulled even more and then i saw him in my rear view mirror. we then cut it off and cruised. He was amazed. .

BTW, no cars where in our way. totally isolated road.

Now i just need some light weight rims Z rated tired and the mistery mod and I can finally get my 'E36killer' (is that right?)licence plate.

I don't think this is the first time a modded cl-s pulled on a m3 manual. I believe JZ has done this too.

Strange that you don't follow the quote in your own sig...

Anyway, not doubting you, but just because someone has been driving a stick for 13 years, means nothing about thier racing ability.

Are you still driving on all seasons?

I actually put that there after loosing a friend and seeing one of our members kill a friend in a car crash going 100+. This is why i stated we did this on a road w/ no cars. and only up to 80.

Ah, good to hear another post like this.

Yep, I was in back of the manual coupe at a light, we made a left and both hit it as soon as we were on the straight away.

My car shifted back into 1st and started to howl. I hit second and he gained a foot of ground until I got back into the meat of VTEC at which time I started to pull on him hard. He had to shift from 2nd earlier than I did and by the time I was making the shift into 3rd I had to hit the brakes or else I would have rear ended him.

We talked afterwards and he gave my car big time props, so yes, he was racing me.

Nice kill Joe.

JZ, how's your tranny holding up, and how many miles you got on her?
I still want to do headers, but I don't feel safe racing the car if it has a weak tranny (although mine has been okay so far).

JROCK--
I don't want to jinx myself by saying that my tranny is fine, so I won't (read between the lines). Besides, I know that my tranny will be replaced under warranty if it goes (you know what I mean).
