once again, not trying to be flashy. in my view its the same car without the emblems.
if i was going for flashy i would probly go for a 03 corvette z06 or e46 m3. somthing along those lines.
low key car that performs is what im looking for.
i like the evo's a lot. but i heard somthing about the IX MR's just not being quality. anyone have any information theyd like to share about this.
and kind of a little side poll i guess
Evo IX MR or WRX STi
AWD would be nice because i do live in new england. so im starting to lean towards those a little more.

and juniorbean thanks for the advise. i get a lot of greif from people i know for working so much. and im not going to be keeping the cl and having multiple cars and no money. im just looking to move on from the cl and not downgrade. which is tough because the cl is a solid car.
i can see exactly where your coming from with not getting a car and getting a house. my girlfriend works a lot less than i do but drives a hyundai, and shes the one getting an apartment not me. but she loves he little 5 speed accent, i just couldnt live with myself driving somthing i didnt want.

Well, the G35 still gets my vote. I'll be honest though... I've always been a closet Crossfire SRT6 fan. I've seen a few on the road that made my head turn. Only reason I wouldn't get it is b/c it's a Chrysler. The depreciation and reliability on that thing would suck... so I'm sticking with my G35 vote.
Good luck
didnt get a chance to test drive it this weekend, i talked to the 6spd maxima guy again when i stopped in and hes working tomorrow until 5 so ill probly swing by and take it for a drive somtime in the afternoon, i want to bring my dad with me to test drive it with me so it might be tough. but ill keep you posted
As for Chrysler's poor resale value, I say that's a good reason to buy a used one since you can probably find it for cheap. Reliability is another story though....
Crossfires are pretty funky looking.
But it has a pretty nice interior, and styling is subjective anyway. I just think its stupid how AMG and also the SRT-6 don't come in manual transmission.
Evos and STis are pretty gaudy. But they are anything but low quality. People say the ride is harsh on them but usually its because someone slams it. They weren't too bad ride quality wise to me, definitely not the best though.
I would vote for G35s but you see too many of them on the road.

Trust me, I was the same way as you. I've always loved cars. I always had pretty good cars when I was young. Then I wised up a few years back and kept my TL-S instead of getting an M3 (my wife also had something to do with that
). I mean, it was just my wife and I and we had 4 cars between us. I sold two of them off and instead, the money went into real estate and eventually helped put us where we are now. Wouldn't you rather have a nice house, nice things AND nice cars verses just nice cars? My wife had a 1994 Toyota Camry from 1997 until this past spring when it died with 200k miles. That was her car for almost 10 years. Sure we could have bought her other cars over the years, but she kept that until things settled for us and last summer we bought her a new A4. We put the money where it needed to go at the time while we were building everything up... and now we can pretty much buy her any car (within reason) she wants. It's much better to live that way then for a car.
Just put this out there for your reference, but my wife was 22 when we began construction on our first home. So we never had to live in an apartment (except for a few months while we were waiting for construction to end) and our first place was new construction. Wouldn't you and her rather be building a home in 2 years then living in an apartment with a nice car in your assigned spot? We were your exact ages when we had just started saving (I was 20, she was 18). So decisions like this can start to shape your future. Just saying....
Again, you are definitely a hard worker... but whether or not you liked school... getting your GED at 15 just so you can start buying cars likely will come back to bite you in the ass later on. Sure making $40k at 18 is nice, regardless of how you're doing it (1 job, 2 jobs, and so on), but how nice is it going to be when you're making the same amount or just a little bit more 10 years from now? Not so cool. Wouldn't you want to make double the money and only have to work 5 days a week, 8 hours a day (at the most)?
I know you're just looking for car advise and honestly, I wouldn't be replying if it didn't seem like you had a good head on your shoulders and a good work ethic... but it just bothers me when teenagers put it all to waste for a car (and yes, I realize this is an automotive forum, and yes, I did the same thing but caught myself before more money was wasted). Seriously bro... get a nice used car, drive it into the ground put your money into something more valuable like your own house, and set yourself and girlfriend up for a profitable future.
But, as mentioned in my first reply.... I vote the G35 (used), so that is what I voted for.
. So there, now I'm back on-topic

and
the way to get rich is to get returns on your money, instead of monthly car payments you should be making mortgage payments...to yourself. The more you suffer now the better it will be later. But back to topic, I voted g35, low key and affordable. A sports/luxo and with the new one out should be favorable used.
looks like the g35 is the heavy favorite and the srt-6 definatly the least favorite.
the AMG and SRT dont come in manual which i didnt understand either because the regular crossfire comes standard with with a 5 speed manual. im guess somthing to do with not having anything that fit the platform when it was released... if any1 has info on that id like to know as well.
im leaving now to go get the girlfriend and test drive the srt. it raining so idk how much fun ill get to have but id still like to get a feel for it. and the way it rides with 19's in the back and 18's in the front. never driven anything with that kind of set up.

sorry about the lack of update if any1 was still wondering what happened.
i took the srt6 out for a test drive and it was actually better than i expected after hearing all the speculations on here. it had a very solid feel to it but wasnt too bouncy of a ride.
i didnt really get a chance to see the power it had but i had it in 3rd at about 40and i slowly pushed the pedal down and it would suck you into the seat more more.
as for room, im 6'3 so i dont really expect to have much leg room in any car but the head room was very good i had about 4-5inches over my head sitting in a very upright position. all in all for the price i think its definatly an awsome car.
and my favorite part is its a very rare sight. i dont believe ive ever seen an srt6 on the road, and only a few regular crossfires. im heading back to the dealership today to talk about trade in value and hopfully see how low i can get them to go on the price.

its a 3.2L, and i had it in 3rd on tip-tronic.
and i know about the slk32 AMG with it having the same engine and all.
i was a little disappointed when there was no manual option.

I wanted this car since it came out. I traded an '05 Infiniti G35 Coupe 6MT with 13k miles on it. Some say I'm crazy, but I think anyone who doesn't appreciate the XFire for what it is misinformed. This is an amazing car hands down. The quality is on par, actually better in some areas than that of the g35. The G35 is stunning, but it bores me compared to this car.

this car is unique and just as nice as all the others. i
ts a real head turner which isnt really what i was going for but i love how every1 says its a chrysler and theyll beat it in a race. because proving them wrong is just way too good a feeling.
the car rides great, and is very comfortable even for me(im 6' 3") and im really enjoying only having 2 seats. i hate having people in my car making a mess.
and the guy that traded his g35c 6 speed said he loved his infiniti but it doesnt compare to the srt6. i guess you really have to drive one to like it. other than that people love to put it down because of its badge.

So if you didn't intend to listen to anyone's reply or the results of the poll, did you post this topic (with the poll) just to be an attention whore?
mostly to get opinions, its not that i didnt listen to anyone's replys, i just wouldnt pick somthing only because every1 else wants one. but once i drove the srt6 i fell in love. and the fact that every1 else doubts it is a huge
for me.
well i thought id drop in on the ack community again! still lovin the srt6 23k on it now and not a single problem. and damn does this thing go, all it needed was some new rubber
my brother in law/sister has a regular Crossfire(non SRT-6). they got it new. it's that kind of baby blue. anyhow she kept on saying how fast it was. I don't think it's crazy fast. He(my brother in law) hates it due to seat position. he's like 6 ft 1 or 2 and the way you sit in it even with the seat clear "down" your eyes are hitting the "blue area" in the windshield.
overall: I'd take a 350Z or s2k or z4 but it's their money

Crossfires are pointless.
They dont handle well, they don't sound good, you can't see out of them...and compared to your other options that legendary Chrysler quality will shine through.
Edit: Oh crap, I didnt see you already bought one.

I am a bit late to the party but congrats on the car, I wish I noticed this thread sooner. I would have reinforced JB's posts. Saving money when I was young and "doing without" was the single best financial decision I made in my late teens. I recommend people work their balls off through their mid-20's but then slow down enjoy the rest of your life, if you go gang busters for your first decade of working, and save as much as possible, you will NEVER regret the decision. Take it for what it is worth, but I have been "retired" for almost a year now, granted there were a few unusual events that helped but now that I know how to enjoy life I could never go back to working 70+ hour work weeks, its not living, its existing. Sure I only drive a s2k, but I don't have to wake up to an alarm can do what ever I want all day long, never take shit from people and am a few years out from making 7 figures annually consistently, when that happens then I will allow myself a higher allowance and then get the huge house, the porsche, etc... for now I enjoy a somewhat humble lifestyle in relation to my net worth, but I'm enjoying it and that is the important thing.
i actually drove them all including a 535rwhp procharged GTO (which was pretty insane i must admit)
lol @ the accord coupe.
uhm im 6' 3" and i fit just fine in it. as for the exhaust the srt-6 sounds pretty nice. could be a little louder but nothing a resonator delete cant fix. and as for the handling u have to be insane. handles better than any of the other cars i drove. if anything that was its strong point
im working pretty hard now putting in about 50-60 hours a week selling cars.
