The most badass ML55 you will ever see. Movie Car conversion
This ML55 was tricked out to be a full driving camera crane. It is heavily used on car commercials. I have a friend who worked with it on a Saab commercial a few year back.
This car is perfactly balanced...completely matte black, right down to the wheels. Has black covers for the headlights, and black netting for the windows. IE: this car was made to not reflect of the surface of other cars.
If you want to see this thing in action, pop in the 2nd disc of Batman Begins:SE. Go to the section on the batmobile. You will see this thing driving on a SET over 100mph.
The first pic is the ML with the jib arm and remote head...and a HD camera for show.
The next pic shows how the passenger seat was retrofitted for a camera operator. He has his wheels (controls the remote head) and video tap. You'll aslo notice the driver has a video monitor for veiwing as well.
The last pic is where the jib operator sits and controls the arm. Also note the 2nd row seating has 2 montiors...one for the director to ride along, and one for the 1st AC to sit with a remote follow focus to sit and watch and guage the distance to pull focus.
Totally badass:

The merc is the most engineered, balanced, stable, and function of all the ones that have come out after it though.
