Most Abused Cars by Brand

This popped into my head just a few days ago when I saw a brand new Volvo XC90 and the only reason it stood out was because the paint had gloss, the exhaust tips were still chrome and the wheels were silver. It seems to me that around here, anybody who owns a Volvo must never clean it and then beat the ever loving shit out of it. I see spotless Subarus from time to time but other than fresh-off-the-lot, I have NEVER seen a babied Volvo.
What cars do you think get ragged on most by their owners.

Depends on the owner. I live down the street from a guy that babies the hell out of his Volvo.
Mitsubishis is definitely one I have seen that takes a beating. Same with Plymouth.
Unrelated....there are some HOT 20-something chicks driving Scions these days.

Think it's dependent on the owner and what their priorities are, not the brand. I see cars of all brands that look clean, if that's what you mean, and cars of all brands that have tons of swirls and months' worth of brake dust.

Mitsubishi. They make fun cars that appeal to young people who beat on them off the lot and blame the manufacturer when it breaks. It must be a warranty nightmare for them.
I've owned 2 Mitsubishi's including a DSM which everyone says are crap but for me, it was very reliable with routine maintenance.

Toyota - Simply because of all the asshats that drive their Prius' 90mph on the 101 weaving in and out of traffic.

I have done more than enough reconditioning work to answer this question.
In general, the most abused cars are dodge and chevys from my experience. there arent many mitsubishis around but most of them are pretty banged up.
there is another huge factor but im not gonna discuss it because it could be offensive, which doesnt have a lot to do with the brand

Toyota Corollas also get beat to shit and their drivers are some of the worst ever. I've seen quite a few new ones that still have the registration tags with door dings, scratches, and major scuff marks on the bumpers. Some of them look like they've been in a demolition derby. It gets me thinking, how the hell do you do that within a matter of weeks to a new car.

but i didn't buy the rolla to keep in pristine condition... i bought it as a workhorse to haul stuff back and forth from home depot (the fold down rear seats rock) and for the MPG (can't beat 40mpg on the highway)... if i am going to a nice venue, i'll take one of the other cars...
but i do agree with you, the other rollas i see on the road are beat to sh!t and look like they have been to hell and back... it's good to know that if i need to beat on my car, it will survive...
