Too boxy....looks smaller as well.

I would rather have smooth lines, than the angles they added.

I just don't like the new look.

Looks like they are taking the sedan look of a BMW, the rear look of the Audi and the angled lines of a Volvo and combining them into one car. Nothing new and unique about it.

Glad I am getting an '03 CL-S before they do any kind of redesign (if they re-issue the car)

At the auto show they hinted at offering a manual. What I want to know is ENGINE AND POWERTRAIN!!! Acura you're killing me, man!

I felt the same way, negative, about the tsx. When I saw it on the road and as time went by, I now love it. Same is going for this tl concept.

My biggest problem? No RWD! Why won't acura just listen and learn that all they need to do is put RWD in and they could make a killing.

Is it me, or is RWD not as practical for year round driving as FWD?

Are they TRYING to make the rear look like the car is smiling?

The lights are the eyes, the license plate is the nose, and the bumper line curves up like a smile

It's kind of forgettable and bland, esp the front. looks lke an Accord. The back doesn't seem to fit, looks German, like VW. I wish Acura would create it's own style. At least the Germans have their own look, all the Japanese cars look alike now. This was a great chance for Acura to step out of the crowd. Hopefully, any new coupe will take it up a few more notches. Maybe in person it will be more striking.

Nope, you're right.. it's not practical.. which is why you'd probably see AWD before you see RWD. I know I'd never buy a RWD unless I had another car for winter.

But I have this feeling we'll be seeing something different here. I mean, we're what, 4 months from it's supposed release and not a single word about drivetrain or engine. I think it's very possible we'll see an AWD powertrain or something. I don't think Acura would keep this tight lipped about FWD 280hp (just to keep up with Inifiniti). IMHO

Well let's see, minus those big wheels, add non-smoked headlights, add sideview mirros, wheel gap between the wheels, real bumpers and you have the new TL. It will be just like the one now, good looking but not eye-catching, nor will it be ugly.

Regarding RWD, it is practical to some extent. I lived in MN until I was 25 and before then was driving a RWD car. I just put some Blizzaks on in the winter and I was good to go. Now that I live in Cali, I much prefer the RWD for two reasons: 1. The lack of torque steer 2. A subjectivelly better handling feel (this is my opinion only!)

I have to admit though if AWD is in the works, I would highly consider it as I used to drive an Audi S4 and the AWD makes for near perfect launches every time!

LOL.. I can't believe people are still posting and reacting to these pics. First of all they're over a month old and there has been many topics already about this and second of all... it's just the concept car. Too funny

Errrr

I was simply commenting on the wheels there JB. Whether it'll come to be or not, they look very good. One would have to think that the 04 would have something like this to compete with G35 and others with similiar Brake Offerings.

I'm waiting for September...

Even if the pics weren't of the concept, and were of the production model, it's still nice to see a car in person rather then on the web.

The G35c looks better in person, the TSX looks better in person (bodykit is nice), and I'm sure the production version of the redesigned TL will look better in person.

On the topic of RWD. My CLS is my first FWD vehicle. I've lived in New England my whole life, and have driven for 20 years. While I see some advantages of FWD in snow, I've never had any problems w/ RWD cars in snow. My tbird (rwd, v8) and me had a 65 mile commute (one way) up to the boston area every day for 2 years, and while there was times I could have used fwd or awd, the rwd got me there and back just fine.

Don't worry caddy, I wasn't talking about you... just in general how people are still picking every little thing apart.

Posts like... "You know what I don't like? The tires... they're too round....and black... why black.. it's such a dirty color. Nice white octagon wheels and RWD would be perfect".

Hehe

I think its funny that you think that commenting in this thread is a waste, but you seem comfortable comenting about those who comment.

Damn! Now I am commenting about those who comment about those who comment!
