modified factory five cobra!!
Here are some pics of my friends modified factory five Cobra. Bored and stroked aluminum 427 to 480ci. Demon 1100cfm carb, 6 speed. Anything that could possibly be aluminum IS
.It weighs as much as the iron block FI 302. 30'000 in the engine alone. Babying it he ran a 10 sec. 1/4 mile. He said the power numbers should be somewhere around 650hp and around 800tq.Enjoy

These are the new ones built by Shelby, right? I've always loved this car. The originals could make 10 second passes down the 1/4 too, I believe. Not sure if the new ones weigh more.
The best thing about them is that they can still romp the shit out of most anything else on the road despite 40+ years of advances in engineering since they were around. A lightweight British AC chassis with a high-revving Ford 427 cammer is a match made in heaven. One showed up at a local car show not long ago and I overheard a bunch of ricers making fun of it "because it had wheel gap". Yeah, ok kids, let's hear you say that after trying to hang with one on a road course or drag strip.
edit: 800 foot pounds!! Mother of god.

Just because it's clean doesn't mean he never drives it, it just means he takes good care of his shit.
Cool car!
With Cobras, after about 400hp, it really makes no difference to your acceleration times. It's entirely traction-limited at that point. Still, there's nothing wrong with having too much power.
Superformance is right around the corner from my work and I see their cobras every now and then. http://superformance.com/MKIII.aspx

I'm a sucker for these Cobras, I fell in love with them back when the originals came out but I love the well done new kits, too. This one above is VERY nice.
If other Cobra lovers haven't heard of Corky Bell's version of this formula, check out this site: ps: I NEED ONE OF THESE!!

He made and designed the valve covers, he is a machinest, and yes it says trickshit on them. Yes they told him he could not run it again for safety reasons, but he's going to go back this year and try to hit a 9
. He has trown a little bit bigger of a cam. I dont think he'll have to try hard , like I said before he was babying it. He does drive it, alot in fact. I told him he should put stripes on it but then he said it would look like too many of the other cobras out there.
notice how theres no badges on it either, its just his style. He wants you to think its just a factory five with a lame iron block 302. You wouldnt think but he had to do alot to fit that 480ci's in there.

Throw some white or black stripes on that FTW.
