To mod or not to mod.... that is the question
To mod or not to mod.... that is the question
So I am thinking of doing some minor mods to spice up the DD during the spring/summer. Enkei wheels (17") and some Tanabe springs (1.5" drop). the spring rate is only 5% over stock so ride quality shouldn't be impacted too much. The stock wheels are 15's. The question is, do I really want to mod a DD? Does it look too boy racerish? I don't plan on any other mods and I'm serious about that. I don't want expensive wheels, but enkei's are a good balance between quality and price. After the live discount, these are about $100 per wheel.

Wheels and drop (photshop, but these are the enkei's I'm considering):

Why not? Age and type of car shouldn't be barriers to tastefully modify an automobile. Hell, at eighty-five years of age, Carroll Shelby is still modifying mustangs in Vegas. I think the wheels and stance of the car you posted looks great.

Other then upgraded headlamps I wouldn't do a thing. Its not like the car is going to go from horrendous to beautiful with these few mods, its going to look like you borrowed your sons car. Modding for the sake of modding is pretty foolish.

I actually need to revise it anyway. Most of those mods are either sold or off the car ready for sale.
After some thought, I am leaning towards NOT modding. Money isn't an issue, as all of this will be under a grand.. however... reasons not to mod are:
1. Decreased performance (larger wheels/diameter)
2. Possible clearance issues
3. Possible ride quality degradation
It is a daily driver/commuter car afterall....
