mirror replacement on a 97-2001 camry

anyone know how? I've searched online and on google groups, I only found stuff for older models. The one place that had the OEM instructions charges you for it on their forum Need to know how to replace the side rear mirror (passenger or drivers, I assume they are the same instructions) Can anyone help?

It should be a piece of cake, remove door panel and there will be probably 3 10mm nuts holding in place, unbolt, unplug - plug in new one and reverse the process. On Toyota's I think they have this foam insulation triangular wedge stuffed up in there(in front of the the three nuts), that may be the hardest part of the job to work around it or get it out - sometimes they are a PITA. Either way it should take under 1/2 hour to do even if it is your first one, its REAL easy.

depending on the year there may be a small triangular black trim piece over the nuts you need to access. It is just held on by one maybe two metal clips, grab it firmly and pull directly out if it has that piece and that may be all there is to it. If you can take a picture of the the door panel with a close up of the area where the mirror is secured I'd be able to tell better, I don't have a 97-01 camry here right now or I'd just go look. If one comes in today I'll pay close attention and post a more detailed removal procedure for you.

The camry I have here has a tweeter behind that triangular black panel, but I imagine the procedure would be very similar if it was there or not - in fact two of the nuts that hold the mirror on also hold the tweeter in place. The triangular plastic piece just pulls off, the top first then the bottom will slide out, then you will see the three nuts and unbolt them and then unplug the power for the power mirror and remove the mirror from the outside. Taking your time the whole job should take under 10 minutes.

Thanks for the help! Definetly seems like a 10 min job
