These bad boys even had a rear facing jump seat in the rear.

growing up my parents had a regular cab nissan pick-up, and me and my brother had to sit behind the front seats in some little jumper seats that faced each other. I don't think I ever had to sit in a babyseat.
All parents I know now all NEED an SUV or mini-van. Just the kids seats alone take up most of the trunk when we go out, and the kids aren't there. and my cousin's car is always just packed full of toys and junk. I can't believe the amount of stuff people have these days .
by the time I have kids everyone is going to need a school bus.

Bought It. Silver EX.
Like I thought. MSRP was $36,900. Got it at invoice, $33,764 +$500 minus $2500 Honda incentive. My out the Door price was $38,500 including winter mats. Even got decent money for the trade. $9200 for an 03 Rendezvous CX.
Wife and I loved the way it drove. Great steering and surprisingly flat cornering.

Not really the modding type. Besides, its the wife's ride. I kinda like the style of the 16's that come with it.

I've actually been looking at a new vehicle for a few weeks now but the Ody just came into te picture a few days ago. The Highlander was the primary focus.

Congrats Dom! The Ody is a solid choice.
SS and I were trying to figure out how to get a 20' extension ladder into the back of my TSX today, so I know what you mean by a Home Depot vehicle.
Was the Rendezvous giving you trouble? You only had it for a short while...

Almost 3 years. We never really liked it, which was the main problem. Other than that, suspension problems (control arm bushings) and the worry that GM's 3.4L's all leak coolant into the engine at some point. From what I was told, its a matter of when not if. It can be an expensive repair if not caught in time.
But I was tired of driving it (love boat like handling) and looking at it mostly. The GM expeirement failed.

The steering, cornering and acceleration were much sharper than any other minivan, and those of many cars and SUVs, when we got our '04 Ody.

That 2500 incentive must have sealed the deal... can't beat invoice-2500

The Highlander at $500 over invoice would have cost me about $45700 OTD.
Now they just have to find a Silver EX

I guess its different in Canada since we have to pay for invoice pricing and wholesale car reports but the salesman and business manager seemed genuinely surprised that I knew what invoice was and about the incentive. Not sure if they were just playing me, but they seemed honest.
Before we even talked numbers he tried to sell me an 07 Demo with 12,000km's for $37,670 OTD.
Either way it was the best car buying experience I've ever had. I basically told him what I was willing to pay, told him he'd have a deal now if they agreed and that was it. There was some hangling on the trade in but even that went smoother than I anticipated.

That said, we will likely be returning the Murano next Fall (lease) and trading our Quest for an Ody EX-L as well.
Sidenote on the Murano (for those who are interested): With the wife, I and our two teens, we did the NJ<->Florida trip twice in our Murano as it has just enough room for make that trip comfortably. Now with our 7 month old daughter and her logistics (stroller, travel play pen, etc,...), the Murano is insufficient for us to use on such trips. I will miss the Murano when the time comes but look forward to owning the Ody.

I know, An EX would have been about 29K US. But it would have cost me about 33-34K to bring it here, + the higher interest rate to pay for it (6.25% on a line of credit) vs the 1.9% I got through Honda Canada. Then there was the whole warranty thing. Last thing I need is bringing my wife's vehicle to Buffalo to have it fixed.

Now the question: What are you going to do with the "plus one seat"?
If you wanna ditch it, it will fit folded under the floor...if you remove the lazy susan.
BTW...CLEAN OUT YOUR INBOX.

I was thinking of storing it but maybe you could provide some info. I'll have baby seats on each of the buckets. Which means they can't be folded to allow passengers to get to the 3rd row, correct? So I'll either have to remove the plus one to allow passage to the back through the middle, or bring the seats together to allow passage on the passenger side. ?
Clearing PM now.

I say slam it and slap a turbo on it, with CL-S pistons and RL cam and get a funny sounding JDM body kit like Hippo Sleek then post pics...

Congrats, Dom!! Driving home in a new car is always exciting!! I'm sure you'll really enjoy it!
We're so thankful we have the option of borrowing one from family when its flexibility and storage space is needed....it's been a great help! And for what it's worth: I HATE the power sliding side doors! If it was an option, my personal choice would be to do without.
One thing I wondered...and maybe you'd have more insight seeing as you're a Dad... But would you have preferred a bench seat for the second row (like it used to be) instead of two buckets? Just wondering if it helps to have a whole seat going across with the kids...in case they wanted to put things (toys, whatever) down beside them, etc. With the buckets, there's no room to place anything beside them to grab; everything would just fall right to the ground. Also, no one can sit with them. Do those types of things play any role? Just curious since almost all newer vehicles use this type of configuration.
