Mdx

So i am in need of a car to drive everyday caues my car isnt nice to drive everyday but i am in love with it so i would never sell it. I like acura and honda and i want a suv but def. not a v8 so i was thinking about the Acura MDX a used one. Does anyone know about the mdx what do you know how much can i get a used one for. what are the bad things about the suv what are good things. help me out guys. Its either going to be the MDX or the Nissan V6 S/C 4 door Fontier.

Does the MDX use the same transmission as the CL and TL? If so I would look elsewhere for an SUV. I have a '01 Jeep Grand Limited with the V8 and it can be a love hate relationship. Quick truck, it pulls my boat nicely and looks good but it has little annoying problems that makes me wish I had bought the MDX instead.

I dont want the suv for pulling anything more just for comfort and ride quality. 4 wheel drive is a-must. also i own a jeep cherrokee now and i dont think i like jeeps that mcuh they are drafty and just feel like a "jeep" if you know what im saying. It is a def between the MDX and the Frontier v6s/c 4 door

i have an 04 NBP/ebony MDX with navi, when i get to drive it...i love it.
You can't compare the MDX to any truck though because the utility of an open bed will win every time, at least for me. The mdx is cool for road trips, grocery runs, and $hit like that. But when you need to run the dirty and bulky stuff like lumber, engines, or whatever, you'll be borrowing your friend's truck. so it really depends on you

The MDX was our third SUV choice behind the Murano (which we bought) and the RX330. We test drove a few of them both new (265hp) and used (240hp). If I needed a 7 passenger SUV then, the MDX would be my DEFINITE first choice.

Yea well i like the MDX i dont really need 7 passanger truck but i like to have it just caues, then on the other hand with the frontier i dont need to haul anything in the bed. Those are just the 2 i have narrowed it down 2 really were my first 2 choices becaues i dont like dopestic cars at all. I have been in the nissan my friend had a 01 s/c with the street sport package. street tieres and evrything, it was nice leather bose tint sunroof. So i need to take a ride in the MDX if i get the MDX i will be getting the 01 i was looking on auto trader i saw 2 different ones, Touring and regular. I am guessing these are trim levels i just was wondering what the difference it between them

off the top of my head, I dont believe much seperated the Touring with the base model in the 2001 models (1st year). I know that Navi was an option on the Touring that year with standard Touring features like memory seats, roof rack and 6CDC.

the touring has all the options in it i believe, wheels, wood grain, ect..... the regular doesn't have all those options. i liked the MDX, trust me they go in the snow. My dad had one from inskip for about a month when they had my car and my dad was driving the MDX and i drove it occasionally and this was during the winter, and of course it snowed so why not test it out, i swear we could not get it stuck. One thing i don't like about the MDX is thier seets just not comfertable to me.

you still gotta check my new ride out.

Sorry if I missed you wanted new/used. I'd get a used Frontier over the MDX. The Nissans don't hold value as good as Acura and the MDX has that pesky tranny issue.

Ah-hah, so the MDX does use the same tranny?

I think the Touring MDX has navi, wood trim, rood rack and running boards. The standard has a compass where the navi would go.

For what I understand, all the J series Honda/Acura use a variation of the same tranny.

Can anyone explain how the MDX's 4WD work? Is it automatic? A girl I work with was complaining that her MDX was all over the road during last weeks snow storm. Dealer told her it kicks in when skidding? isn't this the traction control. Is there a 4WD button? Need to stick up for our Acuras. BTW it's an 02 MDX

sorry for the hijack
