Mazda 3's Grand Touring or Accord Coupe V6 EX-L

Both manual transmissions. Which one would you choose? I keep going back and forth and they both have their pro's and cons. I'm about to lose my job so I need to get rid of the Tundra and Camaro. I can get the Mazda for about 1000 less than the Accord. Not sure which one would be cheaper to insure.

Oh and if anyone in Texas is interested in taking over a lease for a great deal on a Camaro 2ss, PM me.

Sorry about the work situation. But why are you not looking at a mazda 6? Isn't it more comparable to an accord?

Good question. I like the looks of the 3 better, mainly because I would be getting the hatchback. Then again, that's one of my big cons on the 3 because their are no rear AC vents and I do have kids. Also, I can't get the Grand Touring in a manual on the 6.

Are you sure you can't get manual with GT on the 6? Because here in Canada you can for sure. Also with you being out a job, do you think a new car is wise? Sorry and I don't mean to pry into your private life.

I would go 3s over 6 too, personally.

But I'd go Accord EXLV6 over 3s any day

In either case, they'd better be MT

I've said it before and I'll say it again... The 6-6 Accord Coupe is the only Honda still in production that has the old start up sound, and for that reason alone I'd buy it!!!

But that's just me...

I love the new Mazda's too however!!!

Either way, you're on the right track!!!

Best of luck!!!

It'd be the 3S GT Hatch for me, between the two. Better gas mileage & probably more fun to drive.
Throw an OVTuning tune on it & add some power.

Sadly, here in the US, GT is auto only on the 6.

I certainly can't configure one on the Mazda website, and I haven't seen one in stock anywhere.

I have a bit of Money saved and will need a vehicle. I'll let my wife pay for it if I need to.

I'd rather have a 4-door hatch than a 2-door coupe with kids.

Sorry to hear about your job situation. That's no fun seeing the writing on the wall. Been there done that.

Economically speaking the 3 is a no brainer over the Accord V6. Better gas mileage and cheaper to purchase and likely to insure. And you mentioned kids so the 4 door hatch is going to be the most comfortable for them to get in and out of and more trunk utility. It's a great looking and handling car from what I've read.

With no AC vents in the rear in Houston? My kids are 9 and 12 so it's not like I have to deal with car seats but yeah, I see your point. They like getting into the back of the Camaro.

My 12 year old Civic sedan copes with the Houston heat with 2 kids, one being rear facing.
It's better in our Flex with the roof vents, but the car isn't bad. Tinted windows & a windshield shade when parked make a big difference.

Accord as long you don't chicken out of the stick! My dad has a V6 auto the trans logic sucks donkey balls! And it runs on 3 cylinders most of the time. Only when you punch it does it sound and feel like a good ol J series. Although, if you have a Camaro automatic those have cylinder deactivation too.

Hope it treats you well. Look into Orange Virus Tuning, if you want to free it up a bit.

thanks. I was checking them out last night. They are claiming 25 HP which seems high but I haven't done the research to see if that claim is backed up. $600 isn't cheap, but it's a bargain for 25 HP.

They're definitely legit. Over on Miata.net, they've gotten the ND from 155hp at the crank to 189whp with header/midpipe/exhaust & tune. Moreso, they broaden the range of power.
